Job overview and responsibilitiesThe Senior Manager - Portfolio Strategy and Planning will play a pivotal role in shaping the departments future by managing important cycles, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring the alignment of our initiatives with long-term impact goals. This individual will be responsible for developing financial forecasts, evaluating strategic investments, and defining success metrics. They will also lead market research efforts, communicate strategic plans to leadership, and manage the performance of technology partners.
Goal Planning and Prioritization:Manage quarterly and annual planning and prioritization cycles to align with long-term impact goalsIdentify opportunities for growth, product development, and market expansionFinancial Forecasting and Budget Management:Develop and maintain financial forecasts and budgetsSupport the evaluation of critical initiatives and investment opportunities through case development and financial modelingMetrics and Analysis:Define and assess metrics to measure the success of strategiesConduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to evaluate market trends and the viability of critical initiativesPartnership and Collaboration:Build and maintain trusting partnerships including Ancillary Products, PRM, Loyalty, Alliances, and other DT teamsEnsure key initiatives are adequately funded and resourcedContinuously communicate our goals, strategies, and plans to leaders, peers, and functional partnersRepresent the Ancillary Platforms team in cross-functional IT/Digital portfolio planningCommunication and Leadership:Communicate goals, strategies, and plans to Digital Transformation (DT) leadership and business partnersLead process improvements, identify standard methodologies, and foster human capital development in support of our strategyMonitor strategy effectiveness and implement necessary adjustmentsAct as the representative for the Digital Retail Portfolio (DRP) team in cross-functional IT/Digital portfolio planning.Team Leadership and Management:Lead and manage a team of strategy professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environmentProvide mentorship, guidance, and career development opportunities to team membersEnsure the team is aligned with company goals and strategies, and that individual contributions are recognizedManage team workload and delegate responsibilities to ensure efficient operation and project deliveryUnited Airlines is an equal opportunity employer.
