Senior Manager - Advanced Camera Technology

About the Group: 

The vehicle camera team is developing and deploying multiple technologies that are interacting with the driver through the infotainment displays and providing guidance and visibility through the vehicle vision system, with wide variety of surrounding peripheral cameras.  

 

Those technologies are being deployed and in production for growing amount of vehicle programs and have carry critical functionality that support GM vehicle shipment, including safety compliance functionalities. 

We are looking for a Senior Manager to join our team! 

 

The Senior Manager will join vehicle camera team staff and will take wide responsibility of advanced technologies development and productization, as well as safety application responsibility, from algorithmic proof of concept to deployment core technologies in the infotainment system, on the vehicle. 

The technologies are being developed in an environment that is nurturing data from the vehicles, and with advanced techniques that need to consider fast response with low computational resources, yet with the expectation of meeting high performance. 

 

The key to success in this role is the ability to work in multi-national team that is spread across multiple sites, and collaborate greatly with correlated teams, sharing data, tech and know how’s. 

 

We’re working on hybrid model, working with global teams across NA (east and west coast), and occasional travel. 

 

What will YOU do: 

Lead a multinational organization that will explore, develop and productize vehicle camera technologies in the domain of viewing safety applications, in vehicle customer facing video applications, in vehicle camera backend services, recording and streaming services and alerts, or similar.  

Own the creation of core vision system technologies, using both classic and advanced techniques, with emphasis on data driven development and postmortem debugging, and deployment on embedded systems that have challenging compute and runtime considerations. 

The responsibility spans from developing the technology based on product needs, exploration of competing algorithm methods (classic, learned, etc), acquiring the necessary data and simulation environment, and all the way to implementation and integration with the embedded target, considering the computational / real time aspects.  

The role includes synchronization with upstream and downstream stakeholders, and being a true team player that collaborates, sees and addresses the organizational needs. 

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

BSc. in EE/CS/Math/Physics or equivalent 

Over 10 years of experience in hands on algorithms and software development  

Over 7 years of experience leading algorithm / SW engineering organizations (multiple teams) 

Experience working on vision / video systems 

Demonstrated track of delivering products successfully 

Outstanding people leadership skills 

Excellent communication skills

Experience with embedded systems

familiarity with automotive industry
