JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a Senior Connectivity Architect to join our Technology Platform group, to provide world leading domain expertise towards Liberty Global’s markets and product teams in the pursuit of new innovative Connectivity Use Cases, supervising their definition, design and development through leadership and guidance of large scale delivery partners.

In this role, you will,

Oversee LG’s One Connect Platform architecture, a powerful cloud based micro service platform, orchestrating a growing number of connectivity services, across our in-home WiFi, Cloud Components and Customer Apps, for our fixed (Cable and Fibre) and mobile footprint, with services including, Device Management, WiFi orchestration, Application Prioritisation, Security, Parental Controls, and Smart HomeCollaborate with our key partners across Liberty Global product teams, and our 5 key markets, working together to refine our technical functional & non-functional requirementsAct as a domain expert on OneConnect and related technologies for Liberty & be the go-to contact for markets on the sameWork with our internal delivery teams and external delivery partners to review and refine design and delivery choices, ensuring we jointly commit to deliver features and platform changes that meet our goals from a customer experience perspective and are in line with longer term roadmap and business objectivesLead architectural review of partner design proposals and safeguard LG’s interests by upholding architectural principles, and standard processes, while establishing foundations for future innovation, and ensuring overall alignment with LG’s goals, for customer experience, platform evolution, while enabling future commercial opportunitiesCarry out technology prototype activity to explore art-of the possible integrations, to rule in /out potential technology options, drawing on latest advancements in Cloud Big Data and GenAIFace into industry bodies and service provider peers to keep abreast & influence connectivity developments & standardization, including initiating & supervising collaboration across our key Open Source communities, RDK, Cable Labs, Broadband Forum, to help drive alignment with Liberty Global’s Platform strategyBrief senior management both in Liberty and our markets on key technology evolution and opportunitiesAssist in M&A and Liberty Ventures technical due diligence to help advise on strategic investments and support as needed broader Liberty companies such as Egg & BelieveOverall you will be the champion and guardian of our One Connect Platform, supervising it’s development and evolution at a time of unprecedented technological opportunity!

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESLead the architectural vision & strategy for Liberty Global’s cloud-based platforms, services and apps that form the Connectivity Technology Platform – ONEConnectAct as the principal technical interface and domain expert towards LG’s markets, providing consultation and facilitation of connectivity use cases, while striking alignment on technology strategy, promoting a cohesive approach to the adoption of connectivity servicesCollaborate closely with our markets and product teams, to understand requirements, define architectural solutions, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives, though well rounded technical assessments balancing technology business requirementsGuide & articulate the One Connect Roadmap, aligning technology solutions with business and engineering requirements and priorities, with goal of achieving clear customer experience outcomes, while maintaining focus on innovation and future integration opportunitiesProvide technical leadership to multi-functional teams, spread across partners and vendors, following agile & rapid prototyping practices, while using the potential of micro service architecture, to realise new compelling and market differentiating capabilities for One ConnectAct as a technology enthusiast providing world leading domain expertise for the One Connect Ecosystem and see opportunities to optimise, enhance and innovate, promoting a culture of continuous improvement; ensuring the One Connect roadmap is understood consistently across the technology teamsIdentify the right partnerships for One Connect to enable implementation of new technologies into Liberty Global’s portfolio, and underpin the development of robust technical roadmaps and architectureProactively identify and mitigate architectural risks, through review of Technology Platform Roadmaps, ensuring the security, compliance, and resilience of the microservices platform through robust design and implementation practices, while also ensuring that One Connect foundation is fit for innovation and enables a 2nd to none consumer experienceOne Connect Subject Matter Expert, supervising high-level architectural designs for Cloud Micro Services, Apps and Platform technologies promoting standard processes, and using new innovations in area of GenAI and big dataGuide the strategy and vision for the One Connect Platform which ensures continuous improvement and enables future innovation’s, while being sufficiently up to date and aligned with relevant standards and techniques, using modern call flows and communication protocolSet-out functional and non-functional customer experience outcomes, to drive best in class scalability and performance tuning within the One Connect Platform, addressing Capacity & Latency bottlenecks and enhancing overall efficiencyDrive the annual POR (Plan of Record), supporting product and delivery teams in articulating demand, providing the technical underpinning to product user stories, including functional and non-function requirements, and technical guidance, to enable way of working via our key platform service partnersTranslate partner business objectives into technology dependencies, balancing commercial, financial and technology priorities, to create a technology roadmap supporting market-leading productsRepresent One Connect Tech Platform towards our internal and external partners, ensuring alignment with business goals & aspirations, including,Influencing vendor roadmaps, standards bodies, to influence the One Connect Connectivity Ecosystem Roadmap, including from a quality, product and technology perspectiveStay on top of regulatory, privacy & security compliance topics to ensure our platform and products follow all applicable standards, regulations and policiesEnsure there are robust security measures, to safeguard data protection and achieve compliance with European, Swiss and UK standardsStay abreast of emerging technologies, support Tech Due Diligence and assessment of new vendors and progressive technology opportunities, developing recommendations and cases for changes to the Connectivity Platforms, Services, ways of working and operating models, and identifying the right partners for the futureCreate and maintain detailed technical documentation & recommendations, but pitched at the right level, for our partners and x-functional teamsMaintaining an understanding of technology trends and market dynamic across topics including:Cloud HyperScaler Ecosystems & ServiceGenAI Integration Mopdels & OptionsXaaS, API Economy strategies, cloud architectures and edge computingMobile and web app development frameworks, technologies and methodologiesBig Data, AI and data driven cloud based productsConnected consumer electronics technologies including but not limited to Broadband/Fibre/5G/Wi-Fi, Fixed Mobile Convergence, Cyber Security, SDN, IOT etcChampion and evolve data driven decision making through the enhancement of telemetry and data analysis

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCEEssential skills & abilities:Proven experience as a Technology Architect, with a focus on Cloud Based Ecosystems, including Micro Services & Apps, within a telco / service provider environmentTechnology-based product and platform development background, spanning cloud-based software services, mobile apps and potentially connected consumer electronics (e.g., IOT devices, CPE)Demonstrable experience of major developments and deliveries of strategic technology initiatives that have benefitted the company and its customersStrong experience providing technical assessments and driving technology roadmaps and frameworksSolid grounding in the principles and practices of data privacy and information securityGood overall knowledge and familiarity with telecommunications technologies, including Wi-Fi, Ethernet, DOCSIS, XGS-PON as well as current IP communication protocolsOptional: Experience working in a lead technical or product role for Software as a Service businessUse of Agile team working to deliver technical outcomesExpertise in microservices architecture, containerization (e.g., Docker), and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)In-depth understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and serverless computing
