Senior Manager Business Readiness & Deployment (Hybrid, WA)
Job Description

NOTE:   This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area.  You must be willing to work in office at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 3 days/week to be considered for this position.

Nordstrom is focused on keeping pace with our customer needs and achieving our growth aspirations. To support these goals, our Merchandising Division will undergo a complete transformation over the next 3-5 years, with the focus being on how all aspects of planning come to life across the organization. This transformation will require significant efforts with overall deployment – including: training content creation, facilitation of training by role, skilled communication to all levels of the pyramid, business readiness and change management. Across merchandising, there is a need to enhance programs for onboarding, training, and the development of our people, as they progress down pyramid and are better set up for success in their current role. To meet these challenges, we are adding a Sr Manager, Business Readiness & Deployment role that will report into the Business Program & Process organization.

A day in the life…

 

Contribute to deployment strategy and alignment by partnering with senior leaders to understand, anticipate, and shape organizational business readiness needs.  Manage and oversee the merchandise deployment portfolio while ensuring all efforts are aligned with broader business and talent objectives. Establish and monitor project goals, deliverables, and timelines, ensuring high-impact, measurable outcomes that support organizational growth and development. Lead content and curriculum creation through oversight of the design, evolution and delivery of  learning programs, ensuring they meet organizational goals and support needs by role. Manage the evolution of learning standards, including synchronous and asynchronous in-person training and eLearning.  Build business readiness plans and manage forums for communication with leaders across all levels of the organization impacted by the change driven through deployment efforts. Provide guidance and indirect mentorship to other deployment managers across the merchandising division, supporting their development and enhancing overall team capabilities. Collaborate with the process team to integrate new processes and standards into onboarding materials and training needs of the organization.  Drive program visibility, engagement, and success by setting clear metrics and evaluating effectiveness.  Manage a team of business readiness and deployment managers; holding them accountable to role expectations, and supporting their personal development. 

You own this if you have… 

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of retail experience. Experience in learning and development roles, with content creation, facilitation of training, and change management. Track record of thought leadership with collaborative problem solving of complex business issues. Experience with both people leadership and change management of critical business initiatives.  Experience with large-scale program multi-year initiatives including ability to work with cross-functional teams to drive ideas from conception to execution. Strong communication skills, including the ability to develop storylines, present information, and influence across all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently to drive initiative; motivated and results-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and dealing with ambiguity.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $123,500 - $233,500 Annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
