Join Our Team as a Senior Manager for Capital Planning

 

Are you ready to lead the long-term and annual Capital Planning process for a dynamic winery and its affiliates? We are seeking a Senior Manager for Capital Planning to provide strategic recommendations to our Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Board of Directors, supporting the achievement of our corporate and business unit goals. This role encompasses all aspects of Capital Planning, Reporting, and Analysis, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of associated procedures, controls, and systems.

 

In this role, you will implement a successful Capital Planning vision and strategy through strong leadership skills, coordinating data requirements with cross-functional partners such as Wine and Grape Supply, S&OP, Supply Chain, Gallo Glass, Operations Strategy, and Engineering. You will prepare and lead the five-year strategic capital plan and the annual capital plan, presenting to ELT and the Board of Directors for approval. Your responsibilities include interpreting and disseminating Capital Planning information to management and Business Units, ensuring compliance of capital projects, and overseeing annual forecasting, capital expenditure planning, and budget tracking for Engineering.

 

You will manage monthly analysis and reporting on performance, major business drivers, variance analysis, and full-year forecasts for Engineering Overhead. Additionally, you will handle construction-in-progress accounting, depreciation accounting for current-year assets, and comprehensive auditing of capital projects. You will coordinate monthly capital committee meetings, present capital updates to senior management, and manage PP&E cash flow forecasts and allocations.

 

As the point person for capital-related audits and the Financial Advisory Committee (FAC), you will develop or approve recommendations to change systems, policies, and procedures, ensuring timely and accurate implementation. You will work cross-functionally to improve processes, oversee short- and long-term projects, and balance planning efforts with day-to-day demands. Your leadership will involve developing and maintaining operating budgets, capital spending plans, manpower requirements, and ensuring employee conformance to best practices.

What You Will Need:

Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of accounting or finance experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or MBA plus 6 years of accounting or finance experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate plus 12 years of Accounting or finance experience reflecing increasing levels of responsibility. Managerial/supervisory experience. Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description. Required to be 18 years or older. What Will Set You Apart:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics plus 10 years of experience in Accounting or Finance reflecting increasing levels of responsibility. Master’s of Business Management degree. Experience addressing strategic issues as well as the day-to-day operational concerns. Comfortable and effective in the role of change agent. Leadership/management strength to provide motivational guidance and direction. Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Experience writing speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Experience effectively presenting information to top management, public groups, and boards of directors. Computer skill requirements include: Intermediate MS Word, basic MS Access and MS PowerPoint, and Advanced MS Excel Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Experience working with all levels and functions within the Company.

Compensation:

Hiring Salary Range Posted: $143,500 - $215,300 Anually plus 10% performance bonus Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
