Senior Manager Commodity

Job Details:

SUMMARY:

This position will report to the Associate Director of Commodity Purchasing and manage the procurement and logistics of truck corn for Tyson’s Eastern Feed Mills. This position will require someone who has a broad understanding of grain markets and enjoys working in a team-oriented environment. This position will have indirect management of two team members purchasing for the eastern feed mills.

Responsibilities Include:

Managing the purchase to pay process for corn deliveriesSupplying grain in the most cost-effective way for assigned feed millsManaging a P&LPromoting the Tyson LGS Program to maximize the effectiveness of the company’s grain presence with local farmersPromoting Tyson LGS Sustain ProgramManaging and maintaining relationships with Feed mill managersManaging Inventory levels at assigned Feed MillsDeveloping and maintaining daily grain bid sheetsExecuting hedges related to forward purchasesResolution of customer/contract disputesActively focus on customer relationships with vendors including producers, resellers, and brokersCoordinating truck deliveries with the rail teamMaintaining a thorough knowledge of markets including rail values, truck freight rates and river valuesInnovative and critical thinking  Helps develop and maintain Tyson presence while working to increase origination opportunities outside core regions

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in an academic field directly related and essential to this job such as Finance, Ag Business, or Economics.Experience: 5 plus years of related experience.Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.Supervisory: Yes.Travel: 5 to 6 trips per year.
