Senior Manager Content Strategy, Merchandising

The Senior Manager of Content Strategy will be responsible for driving critical advancements in our Merchandising capabilities. The role exists at the intersection of process development, internal systems development, and data science. It requires creative thinking, forward-looking perspectives, and an innovative spirit.

What you’ll be doing:
•    Manage up to 5 or more direct reports, providing development and feedback.
•    Lead, develop, and manage all aspects of content strategy that supports and extends business objectives, both short and long term.
•    Develop, maintain, and enforce content guidelines; Conduct competitive research to ensure content style guides result in a best-in-class customer experience.
•    Develop strategy and process for managing taxonomy, continuously evaluating and governing primary/web hierarchies, and attribution for positive online experience.
•    Demonstrated ability as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for content strategy processes, using acumen to identify and troubleshoot issues to generate solutions.  
•    Continuously seek opportunities for new technologies and innovative solutions for ongoing content process improvements.
•    Work cross-functionally with Merchandising, Site Operations, Internal Search, SEO and other internal teams to ensure alignment of processes and improvements across all functions.
•    Analyze user behavior to evaluate and prioritize future content investments.
•    Partner with cross functional teams on post-mortem analysis to derive insights into performance of specific enrichment initiatives.
•    Communicate strategic direction of content strategy to senior leadership.

•    Well-versed in content best practices and passionate about elevating the game to be a leader in the space.
•    Strong critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.  Ability to articulate complicated concepts simply and clearly.
•    Excellent interpersonal skills. Proven ability to develop strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders.  Ability to lead, persuade and resolve conflict.
•    Proven track record in driving and delivering business results through the implementation of business process improvements and innovative technology solutions.
•    Proven ability to coach and grow talent.


Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
•    6 – 8 years Merchandising, eCommerce or related experience.
•    Demonstrated e-commerce experience, strategic planning, and project management skills.
•    Experience with web analytics tools preferred.
•    Highly proficient in all MS Office tools with specific emphasis on MS Excel and PowerPoint.
