Department Overview
Electric Asset Management (EAM) is responsible for the electric system engineering and planning, asset strategy, and risk management across transmission, distribution, and substation asset families. The team leverages a data-driven, standards-based and risk-informed approach to manage electric asset and system health, capacity, and performance. The organization is accountable for asset planning and strategy, standards and work methods, and asset data management for Electric.
As part of the EAM team, the Asset Knowledge Management (AKM) organization is responsible for the guiding the acquisition, management, quality, and access of PG&E’s electric asset data. The team’s objective is to maximize the use of and ensure the trustworthiness of PG&E’s critical electric data assets and includes the development of analytic and situational intelligence tools that leverage this critical data.
Position Summary
The Senior Manager of the Data & Analytics Product Development leads a team of highly capable product managers and project managers to successfully deliver analytic and data products in support of the Electric Engineering and Operations team’s strategic objectives. Responsibilities broadly include leading the product strategy, driving the vision for technical architecture to support effective and scalable product development, delivering high-value products across the product lifecycle and managing the successful integration of products into existing or new processes. The team also leads geospatial data reporting for PG&E’s Wildfire Mitigation Plan initiatives. The leader and co-workers on this team partner cross-functionally with clients, data analysts, data scientists, UIX developers and software engineers to drive client-centered product development.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business need. Location is flexible within the Bay Area.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
Minimum Base Salary $151,000
Maximum Base Salary $257,000
Job Responsibilities
Lead the management of analytic and data product family portfolios, developing and driving the strategic vision and execution of portfolios aligned to PG&E’s True North Strategy for Electric Engineering and Operations; Work with executives to develop and gain alignment with product and portfolio planning and funding Drive change management necessary to successfully integrate products into existing or new processes Guide the successful delivery of PG&E’s Spatial Quarterly Data Report (SQDR) to the Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety; expand SQDR to cover tabular reporting Build a high performing team by setting goals, developing, and managing work resources, and ensuring the team has adequate tools/processes/artifacts, training, and technology to successfully perform their jobs Establish and implement Operating Model (e.g., processes, playbook, ceremonies) employing Lean, Agile and Design Thinking practices to improve consistency, agility, and value of data and analytic product delivery for clients Provide consistent and clear visibility into product status using lean visual management tools across sub-teams. Identify new innovations to cross-organizational issues and put in place plans to execute solutions, including scalable product architectures Create and communicate data and analytic product capabilities and successes throughout PG&E Effectively manage organization’s financial accountabilities including contracting, budget, forecasting and liability accruals
Qualifications
Minimum:
BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Computer Science/Information Systems, etc. or equivalent work experience. 10 years of job-related experience in Business, IT, or Engineering fields and/or related education.
