As a component of Diagnostic Imaging, Radiology, Mammography, Magnetic Resonance, CT Scanning, Ultrasound, Bone Densitometry and Nuclear Medicine services are offered and monitored carefully. The procedures must be coordinated with other departments, physician schedules, technical schedules and equipment availability. Examinations involve the use of a variety of complex radiologic supplies and equipment, and as many as 500 different patient positions. Patients are often in serious physical and emotional condition requiring extra care and sensitivity in conducting the examinations. Many portable examinations are given to non-ambulatory patients and to patients in surgery. Coordination with other departments is essential to professional operations.
