VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is a hybrid cloud infrastructure platform to run modern workloads from mission-critical workflows to containerized apps, whether in the private cloud or at the edge. VCF integrates compute, storage, networking, security, and cloud management services, including support for modern composable hardware, to create a consistent, and dynamically configurable, infrastructure.
The Operations and Management engineering team in VCF is an exciting and fast paced organization that is leading the charge of simplifying operations and management across hybrid cloud environments across compute, storage, network. This division includes a very successful and growing solution set aimed at providing a comprehensive Operations and Management platform to manage modern workloads, from mission-critical workflows to containerized apps, in the hybrid cloud including at the edge. We have ambitious goals to expand management capabilities to support the latest application architectures and deployment systems such as Kubernetes, as well as enable simplified and unified management and operations of these systems in order to free customers to focus on the business decisions they need to make to optimize the operational cost of their environments.
We are looking for a technology leader with broad industry experience from infrastructure to applications to help us grow our business broadly and simplify our customers’ experience when interacting with their next generation cloud environments.
As the Sr. Manager of Engineering for one of the fastest growing businesses in Broadcom, you will work closely with the Engineering leader and his leadership team to drive product strategy, roadmap delivery, and customer/operational excellence. This is a Director/Sr. Director level position in most other Silicon Valley software companies. You will orchestrate strategy, drive prioritization, and execute decisions within and across other engineering organizations for developing and delivering a cohesive and integrated product experience for the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) division’s hybrid-cloud solution.

Background:
Extensive Software Industry Experience: Over 10-15 years in the software industry, with a balanced mix of coding, design, and leadership in engineering teams, processes, strategy, and innovation. At least 5 years in a management/leadership role.
Expert in Large-Scale, Distributed Multi-Cloud Solutions: Hands-on experience in software engineering for large-scale, distributed multi-cloud environments, including deep knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
Enterprise Software and Cloud Architecture Expertise: In-depth understanding of enterprise software, distributed cloud software architecture, SaaS, and distributed applications development. Proficient with virtualization platforms, cloud, networking, and security technologies. Familiar with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Azure, GCP, and OpenStack.
IT/Cloud Operations Management: Experienced in scaling products to enterprise levels and operating at cloud scale in global multi-tenant deployments. Familiarity with IT service management frameworks such as ITIL and IT4IT is advantageous.
Proven Software Development Success: A history of conceptualizing, building, and delivering commercial software, including Cloud and SaaS products, that customers love.
Project and Team Management: Skilled in managing large-scale software development projects and distributed teams, consistently delivering high-quality products on time and within budget. Experienced in supporting global teams across multiple time zones.
