Under the oversight of the Director Technical Operations, The Senior Manager of Facility Operations will be responsible for the following:
All Interior Maintenance & Show Quality Standards (SQS) of the company’s fleet and private destinations.Interior maintenance of Guest and ‘back of house’ areas, for the fleet and private destinations.Interior technical/operational advice and assistance to the ships and DCL’s private destinations as required.Develop, schedule, financially plan and execute long term integrated interior maintenance plans.Develop, schedule, financially plan and execute interior related projects.Interior maintenance & SQS standards documentation to be updated, and kept up to date, in the company’s system of record. Responsibilities:Maintain Disney Cruise Line® Interior Maintenance & SQS standards.Responsible for departmental budgets for areas of responsibility.Standardizing shipboard operating procedures for areas of responsibility.Liaison with USCG, Lloyd's Register, and USPH for areas of responsibility.Assures operational compliance with applicable International, Flag State, Port State, classification society requirements and company policies.Oversee and monitor Interior & SQS maintenance of Disney Cruise Line® fleet and private destinations along with ensuring that the procedures are followed, documented and the associated records are archived in AMOS.Review and maintain operational standards for Interior Maintenance & SQS standards.Build partnerships within WDI, shipboard teams and private destinations teams responsible for interior maintenance.Provide solutions as needed and see that corrective and preventive action is taken on issues within area of responsibility.Assist with planning and execution of long-term maintenance plans (including dry docking and wet docking periods) in liaison with ship Steering Committees and Shore Departments.Complete Annual Vessel Assessments in respect to ship-wide maintenance aspects.Oversees the upkeep and accuracy of the company’s database and archives of fleet Interior technical drawings and manuals within areas of responsibility.Assist the Executive Director of Technical Operations with Officer development training and promotion planning, seeing that content of the Learning Management System is updated as required.See that reported Show Quality Standard (SQS) related maintenance and repair issues under area of responsibility are dealt with efficiently.Oversee maintenance of shipboard Interior areas for all disciplines in direct relation to areas. This includes warranty issues, maintenance (preventative and long term), safety, regulatory, operational budgets, and equipment/inventory control.Responsible for the corrective action in the use of the vessel Asset Issues Maintenance System (AIMS).Supports shipboard refurbishment projects during dry dock, as needed, including project budgets, vendor bids/contracts, scopes, and schedules.Partner with Walt Disney Imagineering in new vendor and materials research for dry dock and in service-related projects.Review and verify Fleet Interior maintenance is completed as required under Lloyds Register.Responsible for AMOS system administration concerning Marine, Technical and Interior departments for Marine and Technical Operations Office Staff, Ships, and private destinations.Review and maintain Marine and Technical Operations Interior Maintenance LOGs in compliance with LOG policies and procedures for onboard departments within areas of responsibility.Assist Executive Director Technical Operations as required and maintain ongoing dialogue regarding reported vessel interior technical operational aspects and actions taken to address reported incidents.Review vessel and shore submissions under the Request For Change (RFC) process in order to identify specific Regulatory or Classification Society requirements to be met.Assist the Fleet in implementing material changes or changes to operation procedures to address root cause analysis findings under the Continuous Improvement Report (CIR) process in DCLIMS.Responsible for upholding the general safety management responsibilities in the Safety Management System within areas under their control.Responsible for implementing and maintaining Safety Management System policies and procedures relative to areas of responsibilities.Review and coordinate development of amendments to SMS policy and procedures prior to sending them to the Executive Director Technical Operations for final approval.Basic Qualifications:3-5 years of experience in shipboard operations, maintenance, or technical management, particularly in interior systems and maintenance.Familiarity with international maritime regulations, including those from USCG (U.S. Coast Guard), Lloyd’s Register, USPH (U.S. Public Health), as well as classification society requirements and industry standards.Experience using AMOS or similar maritime asset management systems for tracking and maintaining ship technical equipment, repairs, and maintenance logs.Ability to assist with or manage projects related to dry docking, refurbishment, and other operational maintenance activities. This includes overseeing budgets, vendor management, and schedules.Experience with managing operational budgets, particularly for maintenance areas, and ensuring adherence to financial plans.Knowledge of best practices in maintaining shipboard interior areas (including safety, regulatory, and equipment control) to ensure operational efficiency and quality.Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams (including Walt Disney Imagineering), shipboard teams, vendors, and shore-based teams, as well as regulatory authorities.Understanding of SMS policies and procedures as they relate to shipboard maintenance, safety, and operational compliance.Experience in coaching or mentoring shipboard staff and supporting officer development, training, and promotions within technical operations.Proven ability to ensure the accuracy and thoroughness of maintenance records, technical drawings, and manuals, including proper archiving in systems like AMOS.Preferred qualificationsCertifications such as Certified Marine Surveyor, Project Management Professional (PMP), or ISO 9001 Quality Management would be an advantage for handling shipboard maintenance and compliance.Expertise in ensuring show quality standards and the integration of these standards into routine maintenance schedules and operational procedures.Experience managing or supporting ship dry docking projects, including managing schedules, vendor contracts, budgets, and quality control of new materials.In-depth understanding of the Safety Management System (SMS) as it pertains to interior maintenance and compliance, with knowledge of how to develop, review, and implement SMS policies and procedures related to interior systems.EducationBachelor’s degree in marine engineering, Technical Operations, related field or relevant work experience.Job Posting Segment:
