Senior Manager FP&A, Inventory Finance

Purpose

The Sr. Manager, Inventory Finance role has primary responsibility for all aspects relating to Inventory. Sitting at the intersection of our Inventory and Merchandising teams within Finance, this position will play a key role in and have ownership over developing and implementing new and cutting-edge ways to optimize our inventory forecasting and buying process. This role will provide financial leadership, direction, and analysis to help drive our strategic initiatives.


To achieve the stated objectives, it will be critical that the Sr. Manager collaborate, clearly communicate with, and influence cross-functional partners, including executive level partners. This individual should have a deep understanding of financial budgeting and forecasting; be able to balance many competing priorities; be able to quickly synthesize information; develop cross-functional trust and collaboration; and influence in environments where he/she may not have the formal authority.

 

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job. MBA a plusAt least 7 years of relevant experience - retail a plusKnowledge of accounting principles and practices, analysis and reporting of financial data.Knowledge of business and mgmt. Principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation.Financial analysis, strategic thinking, and presentation skillsTechnically proficient in Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Excel and Power PointProject management skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.Judgement and decision-making skills; considering relative costs, benefits of potential actions.Experience with and knowledge of SQL a plusGood leadership and communication skillsEffective interpersonal skills and collaborative styleFlexible in a fast-paced dynamic environment with shifting roles and responsibilitiesStrong ability to build relationships with all levels of the organizationEffectively prioritizes multiple demands; adjust to change quickly; works constructively under stressWorks across organizational boundaries; shares information; build effective partnerships throughout the business

Essential Job Functions

Develops financial models and analyses to support Floor and Decor’s most critical strategic initiatives and investments.Provide Executive summaries on key indicators involving Inventory KPIsAnalyze complex financial data and summarize results and recommendations to management for decision making purposesSupport Senior Management and Departments with in-depth analysis, including financial models, ROI analyses, and proformasDrive standardization and process improvement across all planning aspects including best practicesImplement and work with Business Intelligence tools and dashboard reportingPrepare weekly and monthly reportsPerform special project ad-hoc reportingSupports annual budget process, incorporating business initiatives, economic trends, and operational effectiveness.

Working Conditions (travel & environment)

Limited travel required/occasional travel required including air and car travel.The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.
