JOB SUMMARY

This role will be located in the Atlanta, GA Executive office and report to the Vice President, FP&AResponsible for owning all Expense Management, including forecasting, budgeting, and reporting for Progress Residential

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Expense Management:

Own all expense management for Progress ResidentialPartner with cross-functional leaders to build accurate headcount, payroll, and non-payroll expense forecastsProvide detailed variance analysis and commentary for expense performance versus budget, forecast, and prior financial periodsProvide executive leaders with insights into expense performance that allow them to make informed strategic decisions on their expensesDrive actions with senior leaders to ensure expense commitments are attained or exceededUnderstand company strategy and investment decisions and how they impact expense forecasts and budgetPartner with CFO to own end-to-end budget process for all expense accountsManage a Senior Financial Analyst responsible for all non-compensation-related expenses as well as an offshore Finance Manager who is responsible for reporting automationAutomate Expense reporting to drive accuracy and efficiency into the process

QUALIFICATIONSBachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics5-7 years of total experience in a Finance or Accounting role5+ years experience managing a Corporate FP&A teamPossesses excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to articulate contextExperience with Hyperion Planning, Oracle, Prophix, or other financial systems softwareAbility to effectively communicate financial results to Senior Leaders and non-finance team members to synthesize financial data and develop storylines around financial performanceAbility to drive automation in financial processesAbility to drive results with cross-functional partners to obtain expense commitmentsSelf-starter with inquisitive mind to dig into financial results and understand performanceStrong organizational skills to manage multiple deliverables simultaneouslyExperience in Tableau, Looker, or other dashboard-related softwareStrong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint experience
