The Sr Manager of Accounting supports the Sr Director of Accounting by leading a team withing the centralized Accounting function that focuses on the financial close, budgeting and forecasting, resolution of challenges, and strategic initiative support.. The role requires significant collaboration with cross-functional business partners and the Finance management team, to ensure accurate timely and accurate Accounting.
Financial Close and Reporting:
Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate results, and communication to the Company’s Leadership team. Oversee analytical procedures on variances to forecast and determination of impact to future periods.
Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with GAAP and Company policy
Support the preparation of SEC filings and disclosures, and assist with the year-end external audit process (including SOX testing, audit inquiries and issue resolution). Additionally, support preparation for the Company’s quarterly earnings release
Forecasting, Budgeting and Analysis:
Lead the semi-monthly financial forecast for defined areas of responsibility. Collaborate with Finance and Company business partners to understand and forecast variances to budget. Identify future financial risks or opportunities and communicate to Finance leadership.
Assist with preparation and execution of annual budgets (P&L and Balance Sheet)
Coaching and Development:
Responsible for managing, developing and directing Accounting teammates. Develop critical skillsets across the team; provide ongoing developmental feedback and opportunities for growth.
Collaborate with Human Resources to build and execute talent succession plans for the team.
Foster an environment of strong collaboration, both within Finance and across the organization. Understand needs of business partners, and implement solutions
Innovation and Change Management:
Launch new ideas and innovate with confidence. Implement automation and other process improvement activities related to team’s responsibilities
Collaborate with management and business partners to assess business needs; develop proposed solutions.
Identify accounting risk that may arise with changes, and develop/implement controls to mitigate those risks
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
7-10 years' experience
PeopleSoft Financials and Hyperion a plus
CPA Preferred
Strong cross-functional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task with strict attention to detail
Self-motivated with a drive to improve efficiencies
Ability to analyze and validate results; taking further action where necessary
