Senior Manager HR Business Risk & Control Advisor

Come build your future, while being the reason millions of people find a brighter financial future with Discover. **Job Description:** **What You’ll Do** + Responsible for managing and developing a high performing team of risk advisors who provide risk advisory support to Human Resources (HR). + Responsible for using subject matter expert knowledge of HR to be a thought leader in the area of risk management; leading and influencing partnerships with HR business process owners to identify, assess, mitigate and control key operational, compliance and other risk types within Human Resources. + Leader in supporting a strong risk management culture through proper implementation and execution of Corporate Risk Programs, Policies, Standards and Procedures. Regularly communicates and partners with Sr. Leadership within Human Resources and across the Company, including Law, Compliance, Corporate Risk Management, and Business Units. **How You’ll Do It** + Develops and executes risk strategies with process owners. Responsible for leading and influencing the business process owners by risk consulting and providing advice and strategic direction on control design to effectively mitigate risks. Responsible for risk consulting support for the implementation of enterprise policies, standards/ procedures and regulatory changes with the process owners. + Develop and performs most complex risk assessments on critical and highly rated processes to identify and assess risks, coordinates and supports control effectiveness assurance across the processes. + Engages in the development of root cause analysis, action plans and monitors the remediation in an effective and timely manner Engages with Human Resources to develop, integrate, maintain and monitor procedures and controls to ensure compliance with Federal, State laws and regulations. + Develops risk monitoring and reporting to the business process owners, where applicable. Assesses and designs appropriate risk metrics to inform and monitor regulatory, operational and other risk types. + Leads and develops dedicated risk advisors **Qualifications You’ll Need** **The Basics** + Bachelors in Administration and Management, Finance, Human Resources, or related. + 8+ years of Financial Services, Human Resources, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Management or related experience + 3+ years as a People Manager + In lieu of education, 10+ years in Financial Services, Human Resources, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Management or related experience **Physical and Cognitive Requirements** + The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package.
