Senior Manager Inside Sales Commercial

Role summary:

Responsible for leading and managing a team of Sr Inside Account Executives (Sr. AEs) to capture incremental opportunities with our mid-market / complex and high-touch commercial customers, as well as retain customers through contract renewal negotiations. This Sr Manager Inside Sales is responsible for the sales, profitability and performance of their region and managing the KPIs of their team. Works 1:1 with Sr. AEs to assist with opportunity prioritization and strategy development. They are also expected to coach and assist Sr. AEs with their most difficult opportunities and obstacles.

What you’ll be doing:

Own sales and profitability across the book of business assigned to their Sr Account ExecutivesCoach and assist Sr AEs on a weekly 1-on-1 basis on selling methodologies, techniques, opportunity prioritization, and strategy, especially towards their most difficult and valuable opportunities and customersDrive accountability to KPI, sales, and profitability attainmentCoordinate with category leaders and VP/GM, Sales by maintaining regular communication regarding the largest opportunities through formally scheduled meetings and informal channelsConduct team meetings to share wins, insights, drive corporate initiatives, and for the purpose of product learning and developmentIncorporate Next Generation Selling Tools & Process to ensure Sr AEs work in the most effective, efficient, and productive environment possibleHire, Retain & Develop talent by maintaining a robust talent pipeline, motivating top performers, and managing underperformersMonitor emerging marketplace trends and available data to drive decision-making and ensure the evolution of sales strategy and execution

What you bring to the table:

You are an experienced sales leader with proven success leading teams in a business-to -business selling environment. You are passionate about getting it done, delivering for customers, winning together.Strong ability to develop and deliver presentations virtually Strong business, financial, operations and technology acumen Ability to function independently with minimal daily supervisionAbility to interface at customer’s most senior levels 

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience7+ years of experience selling and/or leading a sales team in a Business-to-Business environment1+ years of experience leading a sales team

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s DegreeExperience and proven track record of managing programs or business developmentSolid knowledge of Office Supplies including facility and breakroom, technology products, business furniture, print and promotional productsProficient in Microsoft Office and other basic software tools. Consultative selling, solutions selling, insight selling, negotiation and advanced client management skills Ability to set targets, design growth plans and work with product category sales team members Strategic Planning: Individual will be responsible for targeting which customers to pursue and when; they will be given a list of accounts and will prioritize based on their own knowledge and understanding of the businessAbility to analyze customer data, business and industry trends to create tailored solutions for customers based upon Staples value propositionNegotiating: Individual will oversee pricing negotiations for specific sales opportunities – will need to coordinate the bid and quote process and make discretionary pricing decisions based on their knowledge of the account and assessment of future spend potential
