Senior Manager Logistics
Senior Manager Logistics Responsible for managing and directing all functions involved with the movement of raw materials, finished products, equipment into and out of the factory facilities for both Cavite and Laguna with strict adherence to company, local government policies and international regulations and procedures. Maintains good business relationship, rapport with local government regulating agencies like PEZA and Bureau of Customs Designs systems and procedures relative to importation, efficient cross-dock management operations, receiving, finished goods centralized warehousing and distribution (specifically for IM&D) and exportation requirements. Works with Factory Directors and Senior Managers, Customer Service, Sales & Marketing, Production Planning, and other Senior Leaders to drive efficiencies in the supply chain and to assure the timely delivery of goods with services at the least possible cost. Drive reviews with carriers to ensure all transportation suppliers are performing at optimal service levels. Undertake freight-related and other special projects necessary to improve systems and productivity as well as to contribute to company's cost reduction programs. Appointed as Global Trade Compliance (GTC) Officer for Asia Pacific in compliance with US import/export laws and regulations. Artesyn's Asia Pacific Subject Matter Expert on International Commerical Terms which is a vital part of any supplier or customer contract/agreement following the legal responsibilities of seller and buyer on risk and liabilities. Has the responsibility for setting group and team goals, KRA's, KPI's and measures to ensure performance is better than target. Directly responsible for meeting Transportation and Logistics Budgets for the entire Philippine Operations through various programs and initiatives with reports to the Managing Director and to the Finance Director for validation. **1 Responsible for Meeting and Better Freight and Transportation Budgets for the Philippines Operations** a Responsible for the Philippines Logistics and Freight performance and costs b Leads the Philippines strategic logistics programs and works across several departments (Purchasing, Planning, Production) with their Directors and Sr. Managers to drive freight reduction initiatives. c Responsible for Customs and PEZA relationships d Develop innovative systems and procedures to reduce and control abnormal or unauthorized freight spend. e Continuously benchmark freight rates to ensure costs are better than market. Seek and work with Developmental Freight Suppliers and mutually conceptualize innovative supply chain solutions ultimately leading to improved costs. f Ensure Buyers, Planners, and Purchasing are equipped with the right tools to make decisions on the most cost efficient method for shipping raw materials based on the required Material In House (MIH) date **2 Direct Department resources to work closely with the Customer Service group, Sales, Production Planning & Control (PPC), Production, New Products, Engineering team, Program Managers and Quality on the Finished Goods and After-Sales supplies shipment arrangements.** a Manage all resources (staff, equipment, forwarders, systems) enabling the movement of Finished Goods in accordance with customer requirements and revenue target of the company. b Ensure the Export Manager/Supervisors and the team execute flawlessly the documentation, operations and system transactions through Oracle and E-trace Systems. c Work closely with New Products, Program Managers and Engineering groups on the timely movement of pilot engineering units from/to factory to R&D centers (US,CN,EW) for faster evaluation meeting our customer delivery requirements. d Work with Sales, Customer Service, Hub Planning and Customer Carriers to track cycle times of finished goods with the end in mind of reducing inventory in-transit and improving customer satisfaction. e Provide Last Mile support to ensure Philippine operations meets or exceeds its revenue targets as guided by the company revenue policy by coordinating with all pertinent department heads for orderly, systematic and timely monthly, quarterly & annual closing activities. f Manage FG Centralized Warehousing operations, which was originally conceptualized and implemented by PH Logistics in 2005 and was replicated in Hong Kong (2007) has been fully taken-over again from a 3rd party logistics (in 2018) to control cost, more effective inventory control and more accurate shipping documentation. **3 Direct/Plan all functions related in the receipt, movement of materials in and out of the Philippines Factories in compliance with the company policies and government regulations.** a Ensure the timely delivery of Raw Materials in the Philippine Factories based on the specified Material In House (MIH) date at the least possible cost and the most efficient method based on the inco-terms and geographical location of Vendors using the most appropriate consolidation programs covering Ocean Freight, Heavy Air, Courier and Ground Transportation b Ensure that the Import Operations team fully support their internal customers such as production and planning and manage exceptions or expedites to prevent any lines-down situations resulting to no-work, loss in factory productivity affecting revenue and commitment to customers. c Ensure that the Receiving Operations team of the two sites are on 24/7 operations to receive, validate all incoming deliveries against vendor invoices and other other pertinent shipping documents prior to official acceptance. Materials should be turned-over to either IQC or directly to Warehouse within the set turn-around/lead-time for production consumption. Any discrepancy found should be declared and brought up to the attention of the responsible parties (buyer- vendor, import-forwarder) for immediate disposition. d Coordinate with Government Agencies and Industry Affiliates such as CAAP, PEZA, AFPI, SEIPI, Customs, among others to ensure operational activities and movement of materials are in accordance with AE policy and guidelines and within the rules and regulations of pertinent agencies. This includes the reporting of anomalous or suspicious cargoes to the proper channel prior to further processing for security and safety of employees. e Personal representation/appearances at the local government agencies offices on situations where random inspection have been made on Artesyn's shipments. Presentation of Safety Data Sheet, licenses and proof of end-use/application of some regulated commodities prior to clearance approval. f Manages any deviations or potential violations to trade compliance programs to ensure the company remains in good standing and in compliance to all government and trade regulations . **4 Responsible for Driving Strategic Initiatives within the Supply Chain** a Conceptualize logistics projects that will improve the spend of the PH factories. Support global logistics projects, initiatives and directives as driven by the Corporate Logistics both from Emerson and Artesyn. b Responsible for continuously driving and monitoring the progress of various supply chain programs to ensure they are on track c Develop Systems and Tools together with MIS to ensure Freight and Logistics costs are provided accurately in the most efficient and timely manner and representative of actual expenses which does not deviate from actual performance enabling Senior Leadership to make informed decisions. **5 Manage resources to support all operational requirements enabling the company to meet all its productivity, cost, and revenue targets.** a Manages the performances of the Junior Logistics Managers, Supervisors and staff for the proper coordination of shipments at various origins and destinations including local operations. This is to ensure that there are no issues with the timely delivery and execution of all shipments. c Develop team goals, monitors performances, mentors and conducts performance appraisals with the end in mind of strengthening operations by empowerment, nurturing people skills, identifying training needs, and long term succession planning. **JOB SPECIFICATION / COMPETENCY REQUIRED** Education: With 4-year business management course Minimum Work Experience Required: 15 years of expertise in managing Philippines and international logistics management
