Experience level: 10+ year total experience with 2+ year of experiencing developing teams of 3+ people.

This is the senior manager role for eBay Monetization Data Science team, a 5-member team based out of Bangalore. As the lead for this team, you will be responsible for the growth and development of the team members. You will be responsible for the team’s project prioritization and driving best practices within the team to ensure high quality output. You will also have to manage expectations with senior business partners. Hence, the role requires good team management, partner management and executive presentation skills.

The team provides the analytics muscle for deciding the commercial strategy of eBay globally, focusing mainly on eBay’s U.S. and European business, and is involved in all the important pricing changes. Hence, we are looking for someone with background in pricing. eCommerce pricing experience would be ideal, but pricing experience in other industries like banking is fine too. This team is also involved in seller pricing-promotions end-to-end, starting from the design phase to measuring the impact post implementation. Hence, deep knowledge of advanced A/B testing methodologies is a must for this role.

Job Responsibilities include:

Design and measure pricing-promotions for sellersPlanning, sizing, measuring of strategic price changesStructure and refine analysis with the goal of distilling insights from the dataBuild and innovate processes that produce insights and information on a periodic basisTeam development and managementSupport junior analysts by guiding them in their analysisPresent analytical findings to senior management in order to guide decisionsAnalyse and monitor the business impact of price changes and promotionsDesign product/ feature reports and work cross-functionally to implement themThe role is both data-intensive and people-intensive, and hence candidate must demonstrate strong inter-personal skills, and be very comfortable working with large sets of data to derive business insights. The candidate should also be able to offer a strategic perspective, sound business judgment, and work collaboratively with multiple teams, located in different geographies.

Preferred qualifications and skills:

Bachelor’s Degree with quantitative background (Engineering/ Maths/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Economics/ Econometrics); MBA or equivalent experience would be plus
10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in business consulting, ecommerce, or financial services
Expert Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
Knowledge of Databases and SQL is required
Proficiency with statistical analysis [AB testing, causal impact analysis, synthetic test-control]
Prior experience in pricing
