Job Description

Our distribution business is experiencing transformative growth—with no end in sight. 

That’s why we’re looking for a Senior Manager of Facilities for our Garland, UT, distribution center. This managerial position is responsible for directing and leading process flow of preventive and corrective maintenance to assure compliance with Lakeshore’s performance goals and facility operational reliability. When called upon, you will perform mechanical troubleshooting and repair the critical infrastructure support systems necessary for efficient operation, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and energy management control systems. As a team leader, you’ll have a strong sense of urgency and excel in a fast-paced environment. You’ll also possess superb attention to detail, an ability to juggle multiple projects and strong interpersonal skills to help lead and inspire our team to do their best work. This position will report to our Vice President of UT Distribution. 

A day at Lakeshore looks like this: 

Providing leadership and motivation for all Facility Maintenance associates by communicating core beliefs and values, as well as creating a positive work environment through fairness and equality Establishing goals, performance criteria and measurement processes to proactively manage employees Coordinating the implementation of annual performance objectives and assisting in the development of a reporting format (such as a spreadsheet) to track the completion of these objectives Accurately maintaining documentation for all CA distribution assets, including but not limited to property information books, standard operating procedures, as-built drawings, drawing review documents, site operating manuals, logs and emergency operations manuals Scheduling work and preventive maintenance tasks during periods of system inactivity or scheduled downtime to reduce chances of business interruptions; working closely with management to ensure effects on operations are recognized, well planned and coordinated Reviewing preventive maintenance cycles and tasks monthly to improve maintenance efficiency and response times  Developing cost-effective maintenance processes to improve reliability and associate productivity  Conducting periodic inspections and audits to confirm compliance with operations and maintenance programs, including service-call programs, preventive maintenance, loss control/prevention activities, safety training, hazardous materials, OSHA compliance and record keeping Facilitating corrective action based on inspections and audits when necessary Working in partnership with the Health, Safety and Security Manager to facilitate and monitor safety training programs to maintain compliance with all company, local, state and federal requirements Regularly inspecting all MHE (material handling equipment) and work areas to ensure good housekeeping and safe working conditions; producing monthly reports on your findings  Coordinating Lakeshore’s subcontractor preventive and reactive maintenance activities to assure site operations meet contract requirements and reliability needs Monitoring all contracted maintenance, repair and construction activities for conformance to established building policies and standards  Reviewing shift schedules of direct reports to assure proper coverage during vacation and holiday absences  Assisting in the technical training and upgrading of skills of less-experienced staff Displaying a willingness to make timely decisions, exhibiting sound and accurate judgement, supporting and explaining the reasoning behind decisions and including the appropriate people in the decision-making process Performing administrative functions related to the day-to-day operations of the site, including but not limited to PO creation, subcontractor onboarding, vendor proposals and reviews, safety reporting and invoice approval Ensuring the proper operation of all mission-critical systems, such as conveyors, docks and doors, generator switch gear, fire alarm system, sprinkler system, HVAC, electrical, etc. Assisting in the administration of the Carson facilities’ impairment and loss-prevention program, in addition to ensuring that proper PPE is utilized at all times  Conducting safety audits and participating in client safety meetings Overseeing the tool and supply inventory 

Qualifications

Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:  

High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of 7+ years of technical operations experience is required; 5+ years of facilities experience in the area of distribution center MHE systems is strongly preferred  Advanced working knowledge of OPEX or good to person systems. Accredited technical school, military or college certification in HVAC and/or Operating Engineering Technologies and/or equivalent job-related training and experience required  Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs Experience utilizing sophisticated WMS/WCS and other automated systems and equipment, including RF equipment, sortation, conveyor systems and forklifts Experience working with Pyramid and HighJump Advanced working knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook Strong technical and problem-solving abilities, along with the ability to work independently  Ability to organize and coordinate work efficiently, set priorities and motivate others  Working knowledge of OSHA, NEC, NFC and life safety codes Ability to stand, walk, reach and use arms to perform tasks, as well as push, pull and grasp objects Ability to regularly type or write as needed  Ability to perform tasks that involve talking, hearing and occasionally smelling Ability to sit, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, balance, climb stairs and ladders, work at heights and work in environments with temperature ranges (both outside and inside) Ability to occasionally work around vibration or noise, as well as dust  Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception Ability to operate a motor vehicle
