As the Senior Manager of Global Payroll, you will manage all aspects of payroll for 2,400+ employees: exempt, non-exempt, with employees in the US and international jurisdictions. You will have the chance to serve as a key contributor on a strong team of payroll professionals and to drive improvement across both operational and technical payroll processes. The successful candidate will be someone who excels in a fast paced demanding environment, is accustomed to a hands-on payroll approach, has exceptional project management, communication and organizational skills, and is at home leading cross-functional work as the Robinhood Payroll subject matter expert. This position will report to the Director of Payroll and Stock Administration, and work closely and regularly with cross functional partners.
It is preferred that this role is located in one of the office locations listed on this job description which will align with our in-office working environment. This position is only eligible for remote work in limited geographies within the US where we do not have physical office locations. What you’ll do Oversee the payroll processing for multi-state domestic and international exempt and nonexempt employees, including bi-weekly payroll, and monthly or ad-hoc employee equity settlements Review month-end journal entries and reconciliations for payroll related accounts and participate in our month end close process Responsible for monitoring and maintaining payroll tax compliance Maintain compliance with internal controls, including SOX Partner with the People team and Corp Eng to develop payroll best practices, guidelines and procedures and ensure proper flow of employee data and information Lead and manage cross functional payroll related projects end to end Own end to end payroll-related audits Develop, implement and maintain key policies and procedures for global payroll, including documentation of internal control procedures, identification of inefficiencies/gaps and implementation of process improvements Collaborate with various organizations within the Company to support the payroll process and to drive efficiencies and accuracy What you bring Minimum 12 years of relevant end to end global payroll processing with the focus in global technology companies with 1,000+ employees; minimum 5 years of managing a payroll team A desire to build and manage a world class global payroll function Expert working knowledge of Workday HRIS, Office and G-Suite Experience with acquisitions and international expansion The ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build strong relationships Understanding of accounting for payroll related activities Knowledge of and experience with global taxation of stock options and restricted stock units (RSUs) Knowledge in labor and payroll tax laws and regulations Strong project management skills: organization, tracking and reporting/communication Willingness to roll-up your sleeves and jump in to make sure all deadlines are met Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to lead multiple high profile projects and prioritize tasks, shifting gears on a short notice Exceptional integrity and work ethic Proven ability in analyzing complex issues, resolving problems, and maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan.
