Senior Manager of Indirect and Telecom Taxes

Given the business growth, RingCentral is expanding its Tax Department!  We have a position open for a Senior Manager of Indirect and Telecom Taxes.  This position will be responsible for performing a wide range of telecom and indirect tax strategic planning and compliance for RingCentral’s global operations.  This will include managing a team of VAT, sales and use tax professionals, and hands on management of telecommunication related taxes, fees, and surcharges..   

Job Descriptions:

Reporting to the Head of Tax, the Senior Manager of Indirect and Telecom Tax will be leading and managing the telecommunication and indirect tax planning, compliance and audit process. This is a highly visible role and will be coordinating with the finance, IT  and sales teams to manage the numerous tax reporting and filings. 

Indirect Tax:

Manage third party vendor in the preparation, filing and payment of all transaction tax returns including providing data, pre-filing reviews and reconciliation of all global transaction tax returns

This role will be working with the Regulatory team for regulatory filings

Ensure compliance with US and International tax law by staying up to date with transaction tax law changes, reviewing and setting up of customer exemptions, and maintenance of taxability of the company’s product and services

Work with internal and third party software programmers related to tax calculations in a home-grown billing environment to ensure the accurate calculation, collection and payment of transaction taxes

Manage alltelecom and  indirect tax audits, responding to auditors’ requests in a timely manner and defending the company’s tax positions by preparing technical research and memos.

Maintain SOX compliance and key controls

Assist the finance and legal team on deal construct

Qualifications:

8-10 years of experience in a corporate tax department, consulting role, or a mix of both

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Advanced degree in relevant discipline is preferred:  JD/LLM, Master's in Taxation, MBA or CPA

Experience managing telecom and indirect tax compliance requirements and related processes for a large multi-national telecommunications/technology company 

Thorough working knowledge of applicable tax law

Ability to collaborate with cross-functional business partners at all levels and strong oral and written communication skills

If you are hired in Belmont, the compensation range for this position is between $113,050 and $161,000 for full-time employees, in addition to eligibility for variable pay, equity, and benefits. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, health and wellness, 401k, ESPP, vacation, parental leave, and more! The salary may vary depending on your location, skills, and experience.
