Job Purpose/Summary:

The Senior Manager Safety, Health and Environment tracks and drives continuous improvement to achieve Safety, Health & Environmental (SH&E) goals and objectives as required in Tyson Foods OSH&E Policies, Standards and Plans. The role will be required to seek and identify potential OSH&E compliance issues, law violations and at-risk work conditions/behaviors and is also responsible for educating team members about the OSH&E protocols in the workplace for all Operations within Malaysia.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Occupational Safety, Health & Environment

Responsible for Safety, Health & Environmental (SH&E) management for all Malaysia Cluster Operation sites and support the business needs for other locations such as JVs, offices etc. Implement and maintain the SH&E Management System for all Malaysia Operational sites and ensure effectiveness of the system.Support the effort to increase awareness and competency of TMs in SH&E management, programs and compliance through development and implementation of training programs, SIF Campaigns and relevant programs.Coordinate with Corporate SH&E Lead and Plant SH&E Leads to develop and maintains SH&E policies and program at site accordance with regulation, standard requirements and global requirements.Provide technical specialist service in area of support for SH&E risks as they arise including recommendation for solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures. Active participant of Corporate SH&E Centre of Excellence (COE) team and relevant Community of Practices (COP).Work with Corporate SH&E Lead and Operation Leads for the following SH&E admin matters:Set up SH&E objective and target /KPI for all plants/locations within Malaysia Cluster.Provide guidance on relevant SH&E operational expense and capital investment.

Maintain and improve ISO14001 and ISO45001 for all relevant locations.

Monitor and provide SH&E leadership relating to production activities to prevent unsafe processes and conditions.

Safety, Health & Environment Law and Requirement Compliance

Provide direction and leadership to Malaysia Plant/Location SH&E Leads and overall SH&E staff. Responsible for management and communication of various SH&E-related activities including audits, projects, compliance-related issues, trainings etc.Develop and execute SH&E plans in the workplace according to legal and Tyson requirement guidelines. Responsible for miscellaneous SH&E projects (Tiger Teams) or tasks depending on direction and needs.

People Development

Conduct and develop activities and training to increase people awareness about SH&E.Arrange and control training, assessment, and development of subordinates to implement for successful career progression to have in place an approved succession plan for all key SH&E positions within Malaysia Cluster.Develop the Malaysia SH&E team to be a High Performing team.

Safety, GMP and other requirements

Abide by the rules and responsibilities of safety occupational health and environment policies. Abide by the rules and responsibilities of GMP and food safety.Perform corrective actions and prevention of non-conformance in line with safety and quality standards.Contribute to any special assignment as requested by superior

Requirements:

Education/Certifications:  Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field especially Engineering

Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ direct working experience in Safety, Health and Environmental Management in the manufacturing industry.

Computer Skills: Excellence user on Computer

Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills required. Strong verbal/written communication

Special Skills:

Knowledge of Malaysian Safety Law regulation, ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 14001:2015, SWA, SMETA and Food Safety Management System and Environment Management System.Deep understanding of legal, health and safety guidelines.Strong end-to-end business knowledge of poultry or similar businesses preferred.
