SENIOR MANAGER / PRODUCT OWNER DATA & ANALYTICS, GPSO IT

 

SUMMARY: 

We are seeking a hands-on based techno-functional Product Owner with strong technical acumen and a proven track record in delivering data and analytics solutions within pharma/life science companies.  This role is pivotal in translating how data and analytics will support upcoming launches by applying domain expertise with commercial data to technical expertise in data platforms, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality data products that support Commercial, Medical, and healthcare Compliance functions. 

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is skilled at managing timelines and deliverables, and brings expertise in product ownership—managing backlogs, release cycles, and stakeholder expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Product Ownership & Delivery: Act as the Product Owner for data products such as ODS, Master Data Management, Data Warehousing, including data pipelines, semantic layers, and reporting tools managing and prioritizing backlogs to ensure business needs are met effectively. Apply project management principles where necessary to establish and manage detailed timelines, deliverables, and milestones, ensuring accountability and visibility across all phases of delivery. Hands-On Technical Leadership: Work closely with enterprise data analytics and automation team to address technical challenges and ensure solutions are scalable and compliant with organizational standards. Engage directly with tools like Snowflake, Python, Tableau, Power BI, and SQL to support technical workflows when necessary. Ability to document requirements, design documents; testing and deployment standards, follow optimal design techniques; performance tuning techniques for big data needs to ensure speed to market; clear understanding of testing lifecycles and necessary data quality metrics; good knowledge of end-to-end automation techniques; ability to triage complex issues. Operational Excellence Plan, standardize and steer, release management, ensuring all deployments are thoroughly tested, documented, and aligned with stakeholder needs. Develop and maintain documentation such as timelines, project plans, and technical roadmaps to provide clear direction and accountability. Proactively identify risks, roadblocks, and dependencies, addressing them to keep projects on track. Collaborative Partnering: Partner with cross-functional teams, including IT infrastructure, enterprise data analytics and automation team, and security, to align technical solutions with enterprise standards. Serve as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, gathering requirements, managing expectations, and providing regular updates on progress. Exceptional communication skills, capable of bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders. Experience working with vendors to ensure the successful delivery of high-impact solutions. Continuous Improvement: Advocate for process improvements and best practices in product delivery, ensuring efficiency and high-quality outcomes.

Work in a lean, agile environment, adapting to shifting priorities and embracing iterative development.

REQUIREMENTS: 

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP) a plus. 8+ years of experience in data and analytics or product management, with at least 5 years in a regulated industry like pharma or biotech. Proven techno-functional ability to deliver high-impact data solutions on time and within scope, with expertise in structuring timelines, managing dependencies, and mitigating risks using project management discipline. Data Domain Expertise Deep understanding of commercial data domains such as but not limited to, Physician, Hospital, Payer, Provider, Affiliations, and Patient data, with familiarity with Sales, Marketing and Market Access data sources like IQVIA, Komodo, Compile, Veeva, and specialty pharmacies, patient hubs, formulary, distribution partners such as 3PL Expertise with ultra-rare or rare disease pharma is a plus Knowledge of commercial applications such as Veeva CRM, Market Access, Salesforce CXP in support of Omnichannel, Patient CRM, Specialty Pharmacy is a plus Technical Domain Expertise Advanced technical expertise in Azure data platforms and analytics tools such as Databricks, Python, Spark, SQL, Power BI Thorough understanding and implementation expertise with Master Data Management, with Veeva Network (preferred). Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities Hands-on experience managing product backlogs, release cycles, and stakeholder communication. Familiarity with IT infrastructure, security standards, and enterprise data governance, with experience collaborating across cross-functional technical teams. Cultural Competencies Strong multitasking and organizational skills, with the ability to create actionable plans, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities. Exceptional communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical audiences effectively, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs. Experience working with vendors to ensure the successful delivery of high-impact solutions. A solution-oriented mindset, capable of working independently in dynamic and fast-paced environments, with a passion for continuous improvement and delivering results. Proficient in handling PHI and PII data, with knowledge of compliance frameworks including HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA. Demonstrates a strong commitment to data security.
