Job Description:

Reporting to Senior Supply Chain Manager, you will be part of the Supply Chain Planning Team. As a Supply Chain Manager you will lead, manage, and direct the activities of your team. You will take responsibility for production and material planning of multiple product lines. You will have primary responsibility for Demand Planning through the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning Process (SIOP), interfacing with BU Marketing and Sales to create and maintain demand forecasts, ensuring alignment with BU and corporate targets. You will serve as an advocate for total customer satisfaction by focusing on the customer’s date requirement and communicating that requirement to the operations team. You will assist in the development and execution of the Supply Chain Planning processes at Lawrence and more widely as part of the Systems Operations Planning Group.  What’s attractive about this opportunity?This role provides the opportunity to be a key influencer in the development and continuous improvement of the supply chain planning process at as part of the Systems Operations Group with Microchip. The role is intended to provide leadership in the supply chain area within the local departments or more widely through the business. Main Duties and Responsibilities:Manage, direct, and assist all members of the planning and wider supply chain team in Lawrence.Mentor and assist in the development of staff members (carrying out performance reviews and working with the team on their development plans)Preparation of management/executive scorecards and reporting. Participation in management meetings and operational reviews.Produce and analyse data relating to demand, on time delivery and inventory.Lead and develop SIOP process within BUs and SiteMaintain Customer demand profiles in Smoothie forecasting tool and Microsoft AXGather information relating to the forecast from various sources including meetings with BU representatives and customers.Set inventory levels in alignment with above.Provide clear build requirements/forecast to internal and external manufacturing partners. Monitor delivery and lead improvement activities.Work on and lead inventory management activities ensure inventory targets are met.Partner with procurement team to support identification and validation of material requirements and best practice inventory management and controls.Partake in customer meetings when required, particularly in critical supply and new product ramp situations.Transformation of the supply chain process to improve efficiency using MRP and wider ERP as the core.Review MRP output to ensure appropriate responses to demand.Cross-train with existing members of staff to help cover sickness/vacation periods.Coordinate with New Product teams to help achieve best possible time to market.Manage with team, new product ramps ensuring availability of appropriate capacity and resourcesSupport the Regional Manager in strategy development and participate in global improvement plansEnsure that customer orders are fulfilled on time.Lead and drive continuous improvement activities within the supply chain.Demonstrate and adhere to Microchip’s values.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum of six years in supply chain & Inventory management in a medium/large manufacturing/logistics environment ideally with multi-level BOM structure.Third level qualification to Diploma/Degree level and relevant training in master planning, MRP or APICS certification or equivalent experience.Excellent analytically, with previous experience of developing and presenting reports at Senior Management level.Self-starter with a track record of delivering results.Computer literacy essential especially Microsoft ExcelKnowledge of Axapta/Microsoft Dynamics Business software or similar ERP (SAP, Oracle etc)Knowledge of Lean Supply Chain Principles ideally with demonstrable results in Lean programmes.Strong experience in leading a team ideally across multiple sites in a multicultural environment.Willingness to travel between sites.
