Job Description SummaryYou will be part of the core team at GE Vernova Electrification Software (GEV ESW) Business that is using software to enable de-carbonized future of energy for the planet by designing, building, delivering, and maintaining software applications & services for next generation Grid Software that is used by 40% of the world’s power utilities today. GEV ESW has recently launched a new transformative software called GridOS which a portfolio that helps utilities manage and orchestrate the sustainable energy grid. As a Sr Manager for Program Management, you will be responsible for managing the partners and ensuring timely delivery of key software modules supporting GridOS. You will work with local leaders, partner leadership team and global leadership for training, onboarding supplier resources, managing financials and contract requirements, ensuing execution and timely delivery, driving high quality software and timely responsiveness.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Manage day-to-day program execution by working with GEV managers and partner delivery managers and monitor supplier contract-level deliverable commitments.Track requirements, stakeholder expectations, key milestones, testing progress and project health and provide regular stakeholder updates. When issues should be escalated, resolve such issues according to the Governance escalation proceduresEvaluate Performance Credits and approve and/or reject any action plans resulting from critical service performance failures Coordinate with overall vendor management office to provide update and coordinate the function for the business.Coordinate internal and vendor PMs executing various projects across multiple programsWork directly with global technical teams, both internal and vendor provided, to drive execution of projects in portfolioSupport execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies. Partner with technical and functional teams external to the project to ensure their tasks are completed as requiredProvide regular portfolio status updates to leadershipDefine flexible project management framework to be utilized by all PMs coordinating and able of containing both waterfall and agile projectsDefine and drive adoption of portfolio, program and project management tools to be used for all projectsMeasure, improve and provide updates to leadership on maturity of project management practicesDrive adoption of agile and lean approaches to project executionCoach PMs and provide feedback on their performance and improvement opportunitiesDrive improvement initiatives and incorporate latest industry trendsPerform initial and final financial reviews, and ensure ongoing budget trackingDefine execution methodologies and project management practices to be followed by all projects within the programOrganize project teams comprising from internal and external technical and functional experts based on budget, scope and timelineDesired Characteristics
Proven experience using project management methodologies to deliver business value and drive significant change across an organizationExperience managing budgets including budget and spendStrong understanding and knowledge of various project and portfolio management methodologies with track record of implementing shared standards for large organizationsStrong leadership skills with ability to influence outcomes and organize teams to attain shared goalsExcellent influencing, interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal) with all levels of an organizationSelf-starter - requires minimal direction to accomplish goalsStrong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and / or industry activitiesStrong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sourcesExperience working with others on a global basisApplies knowledge to coach and mentor othersDemonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer, builds strong customer relationships, creates processes with customer viewpoint and partners with customers to help shape their future initiativesStrong analytical and strong problem-solving skills -communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions, anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve, creates actionable strategies and operational plansChange oriented – actively generates process improvements, champions and drives change initiatives, confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways, balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordinglyPMP, ScrumMaster or related Project Management certifications
