OnsiteCollins Aerospace is a seeking Senior Manager Structural Engineering with a strong background in structural analysis to oversee a team of stress engineers. You will also engage with a functional support team in India and/or Mexico. In addition, you will take ownership of various components, such as nacelles and thrust reversers, or other primary and secondary structures. These components are either metallic or composite structures and may be utilized for either commercial or military applications.
The position is working onsite at our Chula Vista CA facility. Relocation assistance is available.What You Will Do
Drive closure of technical challenges, planning, organizing, leading, measuring, and developing the team to achieve goals.Establish goals and priorities for the team by developing plans and decide what must be done to achieve themUnderstand the scope of goals and how much time and resources are required to achieve themCoordinate the plan Development, Value Engineering, Producibility and Sustaining activities for the team with the program customerCreate and execute a low-cost sourcing plan to align with budget and strategic business objectivesEstablish metrics and reporting requirementsEnsure standard analysis methods are utilized or appropriate mitigation methods when neededCoordinate with internal (cross-discipline, CEO, PTO, & Program) and external customersMotivate team members and create a team environment; use technical experience to lead the teamProvide technical direction and guidance, and coordinate with cross-discipline peers and SMEsLeverage strong background in structural analysis including nacelle and thrust reversersLead engineering investigations to establish root cause and implements appropriate corrective/preventive actionsInitiate and/or support key process improvements such as the AR process to attain business objectivesCommunicate goals and relevant information; establish regular staff and individual meetingsDevise ways to empower team members, drive inclusion, and effectively delegate tasksBe data driven in setting targets and standards, and in appraisal of performanceManage budgets, including indirect and CFE spending, and ensure alignment with program and business objectivesMonitor progress for stress engineering milestones and deliverables, and make corrections as necessaryAccount for all technical deliverables and drive improvement in key metrics: OTD, FPY, productivity and targeted turnback reductionMeasure individual performance as it relates to business objectivesRecognize the value of employees and develop this critical organizational assetIdentify strengths and opportunities of employeesDevelop staff through training, mentoring, and work assignments; supports the LDR process.Communicate and make presentations to senior level leadership.Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally when circumstance permitPerform other duties as requiredQualifications You Must Have
Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and typically a minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and typically a minimum of 7 years of experienceU.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62 Experience in structural and/or stress analysisExperience leading a team of engineersExperience with aircraft structures, parts and/or componentsUnderstanding of load path and load balance, and experience in classical hand analysis methodsExperience with technical writingExperience with Continuous Improvement tools and methodologiesQualifications We Prefer

The salary range for this role is 130,000 USD - 272,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
