Senior Manufacturing Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and enhancing manufacturing equipment and processes for both new and existing heat transfer products. This role involves a variety of process improvement projects, including general production, aluminum welding processes, and quality enhancement initiatives. Pay based on years of experience and skillset ($85,000 - $120,000)

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and develop mechanical specifications for new and existing equipment and processes involved in manufacturing heat transfer products. Identify and qualify suppliers to meet project and equipment specifications. Collaborate with Management, Design Engineering, and Production departments to determine project specifications and procedures, such as welding manufacturing equipment and processes. Prepare cost estimates and project plans for new equipment and processes. Work with Design Engineering to develop routings for heat exchanger components and assemblies. Perform calculations to verify equipment and process capabilities to support production volumes. Manage manufacturing projects from initial development through to final manufacturing qualification. Oversee internal and supplier equipment qualification plans and supervise the testing/validation of new equipment. Create manufacturing instructions for new products. Investigate and resolve issues that arise during the manufacturing of new and existing products using tools like RCCA, Fishbone Diagrams, 5-Why’s, etc…, and implement effective solutions. Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations related to job duties. Adhere to and enforce Customer and Company standards, policies, and procedures. Recommend and implement process improvements. Provide feedback to management regarding potential problems or areas for improvement. Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering. A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience is preferred. Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, and 5S methodologies. Knowledge of vacuum brazing, CNC operations, and/or welding is preferred.
