Position Summary:
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in optimizing and improving the manufacturing processes related to electrical components, systems, and equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to drive efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness throughout the manufacturing lifecycle, from design to production.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Providing comprehensive technical support on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to ensure operational goals are met and business targets are achieved
Collaborating closely with Product Development teams to ensure a seamless introduction of new products into the manufacturing process (New Product Introduction, NPI)
Working in coordination with a cross-functional sustaining team to address life cycle issues, continuous improvement, reliability enhancements, and cost reductions for existing products
Investigating and identifying root causes of issues, applying timely and effective resolutions to minimize production disruptions
Interfacing with the Quality Assurance/Quality Control team to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for products and manufacturing processes
Developing and maintaining manufacturing procedures, equipment specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) specifically tailored for medical robotic and navigation products
Engaging with the Supply Chain department to manage supplier relationships and monitor their performance
Designing and releasing fixtures/assembly aids that optimize the manufacturing process
Generating change orders to update documentation and drawings for released products, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards
Troubleshooting robotics, optics, and 3D spatial problems, including Microcontrollers, Programming, Test Development, and Script Automation
Demonstrating effective written communication skills by drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Operations and Maintenance Procedures, protocols, reports, process validations, and other manufacturing-related documentation
Designing and enhancing electrical/electromechanical test systems and procedures
Identifying equipment improvement opportunities and implementing necessary modifications to optimize manufacturing performance
Adhering to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies
Ensuring compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
Representing the company in a professional manner and upholding the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties of Globus
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in manufacturing environments
Thorough understanding and familiarity with ISO requirements, FDA Regulations, and cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) standards
Proven track record of utilizing data analysis techniques and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive process improvements and optimize manufacturing operations
Proven ability to use Lean manufacturing methods to enhance efficiency and minimize waste
Proven experience in troubleshooting robotics, optics, and 3D spatial problems is preferred but not required
Prior experience in the medical device manufacturing industry is preferred but not required
Strong understanding of microcontrollers, programming languages, and scripting for automation
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a key contributor in cross-functional teams, fostering effective communication and synergy
Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills enabling clear and concise conveyance of technical information and concepts
Proficient in utilizing Windows operating systems and familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and collaboration tools like Teams
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time, as needed, to support project requirements or engage with stakeholders at different locations
