Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

Summary:

The divisional manufacturing engineer will be responsible for development and oversight of division-wide equipment PM programs that include PSM covered process mechanical integrity programs. They will work hand-in-hand with each facility maintenance team to ensure PM programs are sufficient, carried out on time and correctly, and that equipment uptime is monitored and maintained to deliver to customer requirements.

The role will also be responsible for the division-wide CAPEX program, specifying equipment hand-in-hand with each facility operations team, working with the site teams to oversee quoting, installation, start up and maintenance program design.

Additionally, the divisional manufacturing engineer will work with Operations Director to become specialized in the ITW 80/20 methodology and suite of ITW Toolbox tools to better support the drive to process excellence at each manufacturing facility.

Essential Duties:

 

ASSET MANAGEMENT & EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE

Build and maintain a critical equipment list for each facility that includes equipment specifications and critical maintenance activities and timings.Oversee planned turnarounds, support planning and preparation activities and set up oversight and controls to ensure on time and in full completion.Assess and develop each facility’s maintenance program to reduce reactive maintenance and increase planned preventative maintenance activities.

CAPITAL PROJECTS

Be the central administrator for capital projects for the division. Work with each facility manager to have the capex applications each completed to the same standard.Assess new equipment requirements, support local teams in specifying and quoting new equipment.Own and manage larger scale projects (end to end) that are large spend and/or have the capacity to interrupt customer supply.

PROCESS EXCELLENCE

Become specialized in the ITW 80/20 methodology and suite of ITW Toolbox tools.Support 80/20 activities at each facility as needed including USa (Understand, Simplify, Act) events, MRD application, In-Lining, and 80/20 segregation,

OTHER

Travel as needed for business needs. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

QualificationsBS in relevant field of engineering with minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.Working knowledge and experience of Project Management (PMP certification a plus).Continuous improvement toolset experience is a plus. A willingness to use a different CI model is a must.Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook.  Strong written, verbal and collaborative communication skills.Knowledge and Experience of OSHA PSM elements is a plus, particularly Mechanical Integrity.
