Senior Manufacturing Engineer Job Number: 338579 Category: -MFG & Supply Chain SBU Description: Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer (w/ Security Clearance) Location: Wichita, KS 67210 Area Code: 316 Pay Range: $45.00-60.00/hour (This is a full time, direct position with full benefits) *1.5x Paid OT likely available* #manufacturingengineering #catia #dodclearance *This job is in support of Department of Defense (DOD) projects, an active Security Clearance is required* Job Duties: * Lead manufacturing engineering efforts for hard metal machining, fabrication, and assembly processes; provide troubleshooting and innovative solutions to resolve material or process challenges. * Utilize SAP systems for efficient management of work orders, production schedules, and inventory control. * Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and technical standards for new and legacy parts. * Manage and execute FAIRs and LAIRs, ensuring all processes and documentation comply with quality standards before production. * Conduct PFMEAs, cycle time studies, RFT (Right the First Time) analyses, and MSA evaluations to improve production quality and efficiency. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address tooling, assembly, supply chain, and CNC programming challenges. * Present manufacturing process updates, inspections, and quality resolutions to stakeholders and customers. * Mentor and support team members on industry standards and best practices for hard metals; composite expertise is a plus. Core Job Qualifications: * Education: BS or MS in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience. * Experience: Seven+ years of relevant work experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong focus on hard metals machining, fabrication, and assembly. * SAP Proficiency: Hands-on experience using SAP for inventory management, production planning, and work order processing. * Composites Knowledge (Preferred): Familiarity with composite component machining and assembly is a plus. * Technical Documentation: Ability to create and update technical documents, reports, work instructions, and manufacturing standards. * CAD/CAM Systems: Proficiency in Catia and/or NX for design and process planning. * Leadership: Self-starter with the ability to mentor team members and provide technical leadership. * US Citizenship: Required due to the nature of the work. * Security Clearance: Active clearance required. Desired Skills: * Mechanical aptitude and understanding of design-for-manufacturing principles. * Hands-on experience in a shop or manufacturing environment. * Strong understanding of airframe manufacturing, including both metallic and composite structures. * Knowledge of Mechanics of Materials and Structural Design principles. * Familiarity with CAD modeling (2D and 3D). * Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. * Experience with cost reduction and process optimization strategies. * Knowledge and application of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen methodologies.
