**Job Description** BAE Systems is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join its organization. Responsibilities: + Support production, business, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment. + Spend the majority of time, up to 90%, on shop floor resolving manufacturing related issues. + Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. + Perform activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including production planning and control, total quality management, systems, manufacturing, equipment and facilities engineering, material management, and process re-engineering. + Interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement. + Apply basic knowledge of the design of organization's products and technology to solve moderately complex and clearly defined engineering problems. + Selects the best method or process from among several existing alternatives. + Develops and writes technical documentation, makes revisions to existing documentation, and provides input to technical papers or presentations. + Deliver technical presentations. + Perform technical analysis, testing, calculations, and evaluation of results to solve moderately complex engineering problems using specialized equipment and/or by computer programs. + Analyzes and interprets design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements. + Provide input to project leaders for the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets. + Apply basic lean/six sigma principals to drive improvements to production processes. + Interact with employees located at multiple facilities across the country. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Bachelor Degree with 4 years of experience or equivalent education/experience + Mechanical or Manufacturing background experience + Understanding of root cause/corrective action/preventive action + Understanding of welding practices + Ability to work independently with minimal guidance + Experience working in a collaborative, team-based environment + Strong mechanical aptitude **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Experience with spray paint processes of military or commercial vehicles and equipment + Commercial blast room equipment and bead blasting of military or commercial vehicles experience + Gage and equipment calibration and control ISO 9001-2008 knowledge + Lean manufacturing experience **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $86460 - $146982 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
