Job Summary

The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer – Material and Processes will provide technical expertise at local level for operational and development Programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilizing engineering and problem solving skills. Accountable for delivering robust, capable manufacturing process technology as it applies to materials, tooling, part fabrication and assembly.
 

Job Responsibilities

•    Development and maintenance of chemical processes, industrial wastewater treatment system, and other chemical related manufacturing processes. 
•    Act as SME in chemical processing field – electroplating, mechanical cleaning, chemical cleaning, chemical stripping, and chemical process control. 
•    Aligns our operational processes to local regulations and industry standards.
•    Provides solutions for production issues through equipment troubleshooting, data analysis, and process improvement methodologies.  
•    Conducting root causes analysis, implementing possible solutions to resolve production issues, and process improvement. 
•    Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
•    Technical expertise at a local project level in governance and deployment of manufacturing development and integration for production within GKN Aerospace.  
•    Provides technical expertise to rapidly solve issues pertaining to vendor schedule and/or quality.
•    Breaks down technical problems, risk, opportunities, in the correct order to create products and add value to GKN Aerospace through creating Zero Defects
•    Leads positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers
•    Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.
•    Provide local project technical oversight for the development of manufacturing process solutions to complex problems through:
•    Local project technical lead for the implementation of production planning, from original concept through to production. Design these processes to a high level of process capability through utilizing the GKN standard Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite.
•    Implement the global process for product development, first article development, configuration changes, build process definition and implementation.
 

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Aerospace, Chemical, Mechanical… etc.) 
•    3+ Years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering
•    5+ years of experience working with chemicals and hazardous material. 
•    Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.
  
Preferred Qualifications:
•    GKN experience
•    Nadcap process
•    Experience working with titanium and titanium alloys
•    Aerospace industry experience
•    Experience in an MRO organization is strongly preferred
•    Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000
•    Increasingly able to provide Technical input at all levels of work
•    Identifies and anticipates technical problems and offers solutions

Compensation Range

The Compensation range for this position is between $99,716 - 124,645.
