What You'll Work On
As the Sr. Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will have the opportunity to implement and maintain plant equipment, systems and other fixed assets to a high standard of safety, quality and productivity at the lowest possible cost while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. This role provides technical and process development support to the plant filling and packaging areas.
Provide technical expertise to support new product introductions, new process/equipment start-up, validation, process optimizations, vendor qualifications, and process alternative evaluationsImplement new and/or current manufacturing methods into manufacturingMonitor production to determine areas of improvement and react to unforeseen production/manufacturing issuesProvide technical training to plant personnel including engineering, equipment operators, electricians, instrument technicians, and maintenanceCreate and execute validation activities according to plant/division policyIndependently manages both non-capital and capital projects from inception through implementation - detailed project schedule development, concept and scope development, cost estimation, capital funding requests, budget tracking, project reviews, implementation, validation, and release to productionComplete process-related engineering activities incorporating best available technologies while adhering to Abbott policies, regulatory requirements, GMP standards, Abbott Engineering Standards and Environmental, Health / Safety regulationsCreate equipment/process specifications and drawings as required and ensure that existing documentation is accurate and appropriateResearch, recommend, implement, and qualify replacement parts for discontinued/obsolete components, equipment, and softwareIdentify and implement cost reduction and productivity improvement projects - areas of focus include process improvements, new manufacturing processes, and new technologiesResponsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent5+ years’ experience in engineering or related role2+ years’ project management experienceGood communication skills, both written and verbal required.Possesses a strong technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures.Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data involves multiple competing factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.Strong leadership skills requiredPreferred Qualifications
5+ years’ experience as Manufacturing EngineerWork experience in the food / medical industry under FDA regulationBachelor’s degree in EngineeringPractical experience in food or pharmaceutical processing and packagingIn compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 – $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
