Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Under minimum supervision and utilizing own experience and knowledge of electronic and mechanical theory and design, designs and supports both new and existing assembly procedures and techniques for Electro-Optics and Opto-Mechanical assemblies using available drawings, specifications, engineering assistance, individuals experience and knowledge of theory and design. A/S degree preferred 6-8 years direct experience with similar manufacturing assembly operations. IPC J standard solder certified preferred. Clearable to Secret level.
Skills
Drawing and Specifications comprehension Reads and interprets complex drawings, specifications and assembly instructions under very little supervision. Ability to proficiently handle/measure Optical Components. Ability to calculate figures and perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of whole and fractional numbers, metric and unit conversions, geometry and trigonometry. Problem Solving and Reasoning Skills. Knowledge of and skill in applying mechanical and electronic theories and standardized analytical and evaluative methods, techniques, procedures and/or policies which relate to the assembly, test and evaluation of assemblies, processes and systems associated with Electro- Optical and Opto-Mechanical assemblies and systems. Ability to solve practical assembly problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpersonal and Communications Skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, assembly and test work instructions, Standard Manufacturing Procedures, and complex assembly drawings. Ability to communicate in English and speak effectively one-on-one. Must be able to effectively train and develop other direct employees in the work and skills required of optical and mechanical assemblers. Licenses/Certifications:
IPC J standard solder certified preferred
