The successful candidate for this role will report to the Sr. Director - Strategy of the Biologicals and Chemicals Division. They should possess excellent analytical, communication, facilitation, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
Responsibilities:Market Intelligence
Lead annual analysis of market to collect information that informs annual planning processUse external datasets and market research reports to build and maintain high-quality models to understand 5-year market growth trends, overall and by region and business segment.Create periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) market dynamics and insights to support key business processesProvide market analytics including analysis of competitor earnings reports, portfolio analysis, and tracking of key competitorsTrack and distill insights from news that informs market and competitive intelligence gatheringCollaborate with different teams, including product management and market development, to evaluate and analyze market opportunities that align with the company's growth areasProvide identification and communication of emerging trends and how they may affect our businessSynthesize market research for regular executive reviewWork independently and in partnership with functional teams to support market and internal analysisDevelop and evolve standard workPresent results to team members and leadership through effective use of Excel, PowerPoint, and emailStrategy DevelopmentAnalyze markets, develop business strategies, and build plans to facilitate business objectivesSupport development of Business Unit and Strategic Business Segment specific strategiesStrong business relationship managementSet and communicate prioritiesUse business systems to deploy and run critical initiativesPartner with team members to achieve goalsLead cross-functional teams as an individual contributor to assess new opportunities from customers/commercial/product management (Return on Investment, market research, development of a reason)Strengthen strategies to increase presence globallyMinimum Qualifications:BS/BA required, major in business or technical field preferred. MBA or advanced degree a plusExperience in a bioproduction or life science environment preferred, including working with and supporting global teams, and collaborating with executive level leadsExperience with data warehousing and CRM tools such as Salesforce.com, and data analytics (advanced Excel user), Power BI reporting tools desiredMicrosoft Office skills requiredUp to 25% travelDesired Qualifications:Prior experience using pharma databases and ability to independently conduct analysis using these databases (examples include IQVIA, Evaluate Pharma, Citeline)Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple projectsHighly motivated, analytical, detailed, and passionateComfortable in flexing between working independently or as part of a cross-functional teamAbility to think through and implement creative solutionsExcellent Excel modeling skillsOutstanding interpersonal skills including ability to take an independent stance when working with collaborators.Proven track record of translating data and metrics into business insightPositive relationship building skillsManagement consulting experience is a plusExperience with financial planning and analysis and root cause analysis is helpfulWhen you’re part of the team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you’ll do meaningful work, that makes a positive impact on a global scale! Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $103,100.00–$154,700.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
