We are looking for a resourceful and highly independent market research professional with strong problem-solving skills, capable of conducting qualitative market research and leveraging data to uncover actionable insights and consumer trends that will inform business strategy, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive revenue growth. In this role, you will lead projects, collaborate with stakeholders and internal teams, conduct primary and secondary research, analyze data to identify emerging trends, and develop recommendations to improve OUC’s programs, products, and services. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on customers' lives by contributing to data-driven strategies, supporting KPIs, analyzing competitive intelligence, and using surveys and focus groups to shape organizational direction.
This hybrid position combines in-office collaboration on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays with the flexibility to work remotely on Wednesdays and Fridays. While the majority of meetings align with the in-office schedule, occasional on-site attendance on other days may be required to support team and business priorities.

**The ideal candidate will have:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Data Analytics, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field from an accredited institution
+ Minimum of five (5) years of experience in market research, consumer insights, data analysis, or a similar role, with a focus on gathering, interpreting, and leveraging data to drive business decisions.
+ Strong problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and experience leveraging competitive intelligence to conduct qualitative market research, analyze data, and uncover actionable insights and emerging trends, with expertise in both primary and secondary research methodologies
+ Proven experience in stakeholder engagement research, interpreting findings, synthesizing complex information, and producing clear reports, summaries, and presentations
+ Demonstrated ability to lead projects, collaborate with stakeholders, and develop strategic recommendations to inform business decisions
+ Proficiency with survey tools and data analysis software (e.g., SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, Excel, Tableau, Qlik, Mtab, or similar), as well as experience with market research methodologies (preferred)
+ A self-starter with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects independently
+ Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with a track record of effectively engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

**Salary Range:** $82,519- $103,150 annually - commensurate with experience

**Job Purpose:**
Leads projects, collaborates with stakeholders and conducts market research to identify actionable insights and consumer trends. Engages in customer research to influence business strategy, improve customer satisfaction and generate revenues. Authors reports, summaries and presentations using consolidated complex information, compiled through quantitative and qualitative analysis of marketing data. Provides consultation to stakeholders and business leaders and collaborates with internal teams to understand business needs and share key findings.
**Primary Functions:**
+ Scopes primary (direct interaction with research subjects to gather data) and secondary (utilizing data developed by others) research projects, creates action plans, metrics and reports
+ Develops, maintains and updates broad social and consumer trend data relevant to the organization
+ Develops, maintains and updates customer segmentation schema highlighting stated and unstated needs and pain points
+ Develops, maintains and updates competitive intelligence on other utilities, policy and regulatory changes. Maintains current data on company performance metrics in reference to peer utilities
+ Develops insights and recommends actions to support the development of new products and services for OUC customers
+ Develops tracking metrics to assess the value proposition and customer satisfaction with non-traditional products and services
+ Recommends metrics to track impact of communicated research recommendations and creates analytics to identify patterns and trends
+ Identifies, secures and manages vendors and contracts
+ Identifies or develops data sets, manages syndicated data and third party research with relevant data from traditional and non-traditional sources
+ Identifies and creates target respondent lists and creates strategies for communications with respondents
+ Develops questionnaires and discussion guides, analyzes data and summarizes results
+ Facilitates research activities
+ Develops insights and makes recommendations from primary research interactions, gathers insights and makes recommendations derived from the secondary research
+ Shares insights and recommendations via reports and presentations
+ Develops training materials to broaden understanding of research within the team
+ Prepares reports and presentations communicating company performance metrics and offers insights into key drivers of results
+ Conducts ad hoc research and analysis in support of ongoing peripherally related projects
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**Technical Requirements:**
+ Demonstrates Knowledge of proven and emerging market research techniques and appropriate applications for each method
+ Conceptualizes and executes primary & secondary research projects
+ Primary (direct interaction with research subjects to gather data) including survey development, focus group moderation, ethnographic studies, in-depth interviews, social listening or other tools as appropriate
+ Secondary (utilizing data developed by others) including correlation and causal-comparative design
+ Demonstrates advanced understanding of marketing statistics including relevant descriptive statistics, sampling techniques, significance testing, segmentation techniques, data modeling and trend analysis
+ Understands organizational strategy and applies understanding to research activities
+ Ability to:

+ Assist and consult with other groups to define, scope, manage and execute research projects

+ Make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, and compute rates, ratios and percentages;
+ Utilize Microsoft Office suite of software to prepare reports and presentations
+ Utilize database software, and survey and reporting tools such as Survey Monkey, Qlik, and Tableau.
**Education/ Certification/ Years of Experience Requirements:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field from an accredited college or university
+ Minimum of five (5) years of experience in data analytics, market research, consumer insights, or similar role (required)
+ Experience in crafting and managing project scope and budgets (preferred)
+ Experience with Survey Monkey, Excel, Mtab, Tableau and Qlik or similar software/survey tools (preferred)
