The School of Graduate Studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) has an opportunity for a full-time, Senior Marketing and Recruitment Specialist. The UMB School of Graduate Studies offers graduate education and training in biomedical, health, and human service sciences - offering 23 Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree programs, and three post-baccalaureate certificate programs in these areas of study.
TheSenior Marketing and Recruitment Specialist will work with the School of Graduate Studies’ admissions staff, administrators, faculty, and students to develop and implement strategic marketing and advertising plans for the School of Graduate Studies based academic programs. The selected applicant is responsible for communications and marketing to potential student applicants throughout the admissions process. In addition, the Senior Marketing and Recruitment Specialist conducts ROI (Return on Investment) analysis and assessments to gauge effectiveness of promotional strategies and take action for identifying strengths and weaknesses. Regularly reports on the progress of marketing plans and the impact of specific marketing initiatives to increase enrollment and enhance the reputation of the School of Graduate Studies.

Primary Duties
Education:Bachelor's degree. Degree in marketing, advertising, communications, journalism, or related field of study is preferred.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in marketing, public relations, communications, or media, public or client relations.
Other:Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted.

Possess an understanding of issues and trends impacting the healthcare/academia along with the ability to create and capitalize on news-making opportunities.Skill in acting as a liaison with clients, vendors, and staff members and effectively communicating their ideas, messages or instincts.Strategic and analytical thinking skills with an ability to market complex information to the public and visualize items for consistency, accuracy, and style.Demonstrate self-motivational skills and strong organizational skills to prioritize ongoing and new projects, as well as facilitating the timely completion of production phases.Skill in creating, curating, and publishing multimedia content.Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with multi-dimensional points of view and to take accountability for deliverables, and results.Strong task and project management skills.Proficiency in utilizing MS Word and other Microsoft Office programs.Hiring Range: $68,000 - $79,000, commensurate with education and experience.
