Senior Marketing Specialist Southeast Division

With this in mind, we are hiring a Senior Marketing Specialist for Terracon’s offices in South Carolina. We have openings in our offices located in Charleston SC, Columbia SC, Greenville-Spartanburg SC, and Savannah GA. You will support a growing, successful office of engineers, scientists, and project professionals.
This position is for a Marketing Proposal Writer and Marketing Strategist. Your primary responsibility is as our Proposal Manager: guiding, crafting and seeing proposals through to submission. Additionally, you will manage our proposal resources, such as resumes and project experience summaries; as well as marketing collateral (digital and printed), conference and trade show coordination and planning, and help maintain our Client Relationship Manager (CRM - Microsoft Dynamics). You will be part of, and supported by, a regional Marketing team (seven professionals) as well as a Corporate Marketing team.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, as well as MS Office 365. Additionally, this role requires organization, self-motivation and superior editorial skills. Ideally, you have marketing experience in the engineering, architecture or construction fields, and have experience with responding to proposal requests and/or SOQ’s.
Essential Role and Responsibilities:Leads and produces proposals/presentation preparation and strategy, including: go/no-go discussions, scheduling milestones and reviews, conducting reviews and working with Project Champions/Project Managers to ensure quality material is submitted and delivered on scheduleSchedules and conducts project kick-off meetings with project champions/project managers and other pursuit team members to strategize for a winning proposal and/or presentationWorks with other Marketing Professionals in the Eastern Operating Group (EOG) and Corporate to share best practices, load leveling, and information sharingResearches, gathers and edits proposal materials, including project experience, existing corporate content, resumes, etc., verifying and formatting proposal informationEnsures that the various aspects of the proposals (Brand Line, key messages, technical scope, staff qualifications and experience, biographical data, etc.) and other marketing materials meet requirements and are accurate, timely and well-writtenMonitors lead services and other media sources for pertinent information relative to specific pursuitsWorks with the Client Development Professional and pursuit teams to develop strategy and Project/Client Capture PlansLeads the process of editing and customizing professional and technical staff resumes, tailoring content to match proposal/qualification requests and related documentsCoordinates events, including event strategy and planning, collateral and swag production, registration and tradeshow participation activities, as well as follow up activitiesCollaborate with marketing professionals and technical staff to capture projects and personnel accomplishments for social media, articles, and awardsWorks with technical staff and other marketing personnel to craft new collateral pieces and creates and/or updates such items as resumes, project descriptions and management plans of proposals to support the specific message, Implement strategic thinking and alignment with business plans for offices and the division Assists with leading Major Pursuits, supporting Pursuit Champion, Team Leader and/or Marketing ManagerParticipates and sometimes leads regular marketing meetings with managers, supervisors, and others that contribute to executing the client development plan in the officeMaintains data integrity through CRM and project management platformsFollows safety rules, guidelines and standards for all activitiesRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related degree and 5+years’ marketing and communications experience. Alternatively, in lieu of a degree, 8 years’ related experiencePrior experience with public agency proposal submittals and public sector SOQ submittals within the A/E/C industryProficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign)Excellent writing and proofreading skillsAdept at working well with various types of personalities and work stylesStrong understanding of go/no-go processParticipation in mentoring; attend and participate in relevant industry workshopsValid driver’s license with acceptable violation historyPreferred:Master’s degree in marketing, communications, or related degree and 7+ years’ marketing and communications experience. The expected salary range for this position is listed below. The base range may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
