Job DescriptionA materials engineer who is responsible of technical support for raw materials used in Bosch Products (new projects or serial).
Part of a global technical and commercial purchasing organization for raw materials supporting all Bosch Business Sectors. Working with multidisciplinary teams inside Bosch and with external partners.
Regional responsibility will include North America (Canada, U.S., Mexico) and South America (Brazil).
Main activities as:
Technical support with steels, aluminum die castings & extrusions, enameled copper wireThin sheet metal processing, hot & cold metal formingHeat & surface treatment processingOn-site metallurgical technical assessments of raw materials and material treatment suppliersTrouble-shooting supplier processes to eliminate root causes of material problemsSelection of suitable or alternate metal alloy types for new or current component applications.Support product development, project purchasing, supplier quality and manufacturing groups selection and coordination of testing for new or alternate metal alloy types for electric vehicles or substitutes to reduce CO2 output.Support localization of materials in North and South America.Negotiate Bosch Norms material requirements between suppliers and internal engineering.Ensure material releases by supplier meet Bosch Norm requirements.Position located in Toluca.
Position requires flexibility to travel up to 30% within North and South America (Mexico, U.S., Canada, Brazil) and occasionally abroad (Europe, Asia).
QualificationsMaterials Science Engineering Degree or equivalent. Bachelors level minimum.At least 7 years industry experience with Bachelors Degree. Will consider 5 years with Masters Degree or PhD.Process knowledge of steels and Heat TreatmentSelf-starter and disciplined in follow-up on required tasks.Strong communication. Ability to negotiate and resolve technical conflicts in a positive manner.Bi-lingual in Spanish and English.
