Job Summary

Lead Material Program Manager (MPM) needed in support of the LADS SBU and PF&M SSBU for a program located in Tucson, AZ. The successful candidate will be directly accountable for ensuring overall program execution of materials management including cost/schedule/quality, and management of supplier performance. In this role, the Lead and their direct reports will own all facets of supply chain scope from strategy to execution, directly achieving operational results. The Lead MPM will report to the Maneuver OSC Lead, with support to the Program Management Office.

This is a senior MPM role which requires practical knowledge and experience in navigating the execution of processes, projects, and tactics, understanding the impact of the work of the team directly to the PF&M AOP and other stake holder areas within the organization. The successful candidate will have financial, contracting, proposal development and negotiating experience and have had project management responsibilities including, but not limited to risk and opportunity management, briefing in customer forums, and the ability to work in cross-functional teams. 

This position is an onsite role.

What You Will Do:

Own, develop and implement material strategies to support program objectives

Reporting of material and labor budgets, earned value management, Estimate at Completion (EAC) reporting (including variance explanations), and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) commitments

Support leadership reviews, including Gate Reviews, Monthly Operations Reviews, Program Reviews, and Customer Reviews

Lead supplier assessments, sourcing strategies, and proposal development activities

Improving supplier performance by utilizing key metrics and establishing an executable Supplier Engagement Plan to actively manage risk within the supply base

Issue/Conflict resolution within organizations, between organizations and with suppliers 

Drive a culture of identifying true root cause and implementing corrective actions to prevent future escapes and continuously improve overall supplied part quality

Ability to travel at least 10% domestically, as required 

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) through education and experience in a manufacturing environment with the ability to provide creative and systemic solutions 

Strong analytical skills required to evaluate end-to-end planning and identify constraints, risks and opportunities 

Experience developing teaming and partnering relationships

Experience utilizing manufacturing or enterprise planning tools such as SAP and/or PRISM

Demonstrated experience in successfully managing programs or suppliers

Must be able to succeed in the high stress, fast paced development environment

Excellent time management skills and the ability to assign the appropriate priorities to the many tasks they will be required to perform

Proficient in the Microsoft Office tool suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project)

Possess strong analytical, communication, team skills, and prioritization skills

Prior experience working in the defense industry within the supply chain function

Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR and DFAR)

Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead project teams

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
