As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will:

\r\n\r\n

In this role, you will create design solutions for the design development of various reactor structures and components for the Natrium Generation IV Reactor. Candidates must have extensive experience in equipment design. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will report to the Reactor Enclosure System Manager. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will work as part of a high functioning team of engineers and scientists focused on developing the design of next generation advanced nuclear reactors.

Responsibilities

\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tDesign of reactor structures and components from requirements through final design.\r\n\tCoordinate inputs and requirements from Engineering and Project teams to produce equipment and components design solutions.\r\n\tPerform scoping analysis and calculations for design options.\r\n\tInterface with the team’s engineering analysis activities.\r\n\tPresent equipment and components design results for design reviews.\r\n\tAssess technical merit of solutions provided by team members, including leading design reviews.\r\n\tInterface with junior engineers and subcontractors, providing direction and mentoring.\r\n\tSupport continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices to maintain the highest quality of engineering design and proactively identify process change/enhancement opportunities.\r\n\r\n\r\n

This is a full time contingent opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tEducation: B.S. degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent preferred\r\n\tMinimum of eight years of equipment / component design experience; relevant M.S. degree credited as two years of experience.\r\n\tWorking experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III.\r\n\tExperience writing design specifications.\r\n\tExperience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).\r\n\tExperience in finite element stress analysis, mechanical analysis methods, and commercial mechanical stress analysis modeling tools with emphasis on ANSYS.\r\n\tExcellent writing and communication skills.\r\n\tStrong analytical/problem solving skills, creative thinker.\r\n\tAbility to work with minimum direction to solve challenging problems.\r\n\tAbility to work on multiple tasks concurrently during a given work week.\r\n\tFamiliarity with CAD, SolidWorks preferred.\r\n\tThe successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Pay Rate: $50.00 - $70.00 per hour

\r\n\r\n
