Roush has an immediate need within our Advanced Engineering department for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is a broad role that requires working on a variety of engineering programs. The role works on projects for large and small customers to meet the customers' timelines. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer works in a team environment to understand each customer’s unique needs and mentors and oversees team member’s technical deliverables to ensure Roush and customer standards are met.
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:
Translate customer needs to design requirements and to feasible design concepts and apply relevant engineering analysis to design components and subsystemsDesign and evolve mechanical systems from concept to prototype levelManage CAD resources to develop 3D models and 2D printsConduct hardware development tasks including testingUtilize Computer Aided Engineering resources to validate designs analyticallyDocument & report status internally and externally to customersProvide leadership, guidance, coaching, and technical support to team membersWork hands-on in a mechanical environmentTo be considered for as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalentAdvanced knowledge of mechanical systems, specifically modern powertrain operation (both ICE and EV systems), and a strong interest in all things mechanicalMinimum 4 years of experience in automotive, aerospace, or related industry experienceHands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to provide solutions to complex problems outside your comfort zone in a timely and cost-effective mannerExperienced and skilled in the development, use and maintenance of DFMEAs (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), DVP&Rs (Design Verification Plan & Reports/Failure Mode), DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and FEA (Finite Element Analysis)Ability to work on multiple programs at onceExcellent computer skills including Microsoft Office SuiteSuperb verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical data to various audiencesAble to perform effectively in a team environmentMust be a US citizen or US lawful permanent resident allowing for ITAR complianceA successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer may also have:
