The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will expand our world leading air bearing positioning systems and lead development of new electro-mechanical and pneumatic motion control devices with sub-micron precision, will be responsible for research, prototyping, and designing precision motion stages in 3D CAD software, generating models and drawings, and will perform analysis, simulation, and studies. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will assist with prototyping and production builds. Successful candidates will be able to design linear and rotary systems across a range of sizes and performance specifications.
This is accomplished through the following essential functions:
•\tWork across departments to implement whole product solutions.
•\tEngage with customers to understand their solution space and derive requirements.
•\tDesign precision motion stages in 3D CAD software, generating models and drawings.
•\tPerform analysis, simulation, and studies.
•\tPrototyping and production builds.
•\tDocument design packages.
•\tMaintain constant communication with supervisor about job progress.
•\tClean and maintain cleanliness of work area.
•\tComplete other tasks as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Work Experience & Knowledge Requirements:
•\tBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related field.
•\t5+ years’ experience working with air bearings, air bushings, or air spindles is required.
•\t5+ years’ experience with pneumatic modeling and fluid flow analysis toolsets.
•\t5+ years’ experience with tolerance analysis.
•\t5+ years’ experience (8+ years preferred) with mechanical design, as it relates to electro-mechanical assemblies.
•\tKnowledge and 5+ years’ experience applied to FEA, Heat Transfer, Shock and Vibration.
•\tExperience working with customers and partners to gather system level requirements.
•\tExperience with robotics is desirable.
•\t3D CAD experience, SolidWorks is preferred.
•\tExcellent mechanical aptitude.
•\tEstablished engineering knowledge in the application and development of analytical solutions to complex engineering problems.
•\tExperience in teamwork and team building.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $165000.00
