We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our Mechanical Engineering team at Raytheon ELCAN. In this role, you will play a key part in designing and developing optomechanical systems. Requirements/Key Competencies
Must be a highly motivated self-starter.Reporting technical information to a diverse audience, both internally and externally to our customers.Demonstrated capability to lead technical teams and solve complex engineering problems.Ability to be adaptive and take initiative.Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.Education and Technical Requirements:
Must have a post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field4+ year of mechanical design experience, preferably in product designP.Eng or working towards P.Eng preferredBackground in physics, or experience in the field of optics is preferredDemonstrated ability to develop a design from a set of written specificationsAbility to use CAD software to design and develop products. Autodesk Inventor preferred.Knowledge of FEA concepts and how to apply them using FEA software. FEMAP and NX Nastran preferred.Experience in completing independent research and development activities.Proficient user in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Raytheon ELCAN offers a competitive compensation package that includes incentive program, benefits, and pension plan.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal reference check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.
