Your Role

The Sr. Mechanical Engineer’s principal focus is technical support to the maintenance crafts, planners, supervisors, and operations to ensure reliability of plant equipment, to improve on-stream time and reduce maintenance costs. This includes development and implementation of more effective preventive maintenance activities and tools.  Site equipment includes compressors, magnetic drive mixers and pumps, vacuum pumps as well as chiller systems and water treatment systems. 

 

Functional responsibilities of the Sr. Mechanical Engineer position include:

Maintaining Subject Matter Expert knowledge base in site Maintenance, Engineering and Mechanical integrity procedures and work processes.Monitoring equipment to ensure reliability in support of production goals.Managing a Risk Based Inspection Mechanical Integrity program for rotating and non-rotating mechanical process equipment.Providing piping and valve specifications, including relief device specificationInteracting with maintenance crafts and staff in support of repairs and alterations to plant equipment and piping; including Plant Maintenance Outage Planning.Providing general support to project engineers during scope development and equipment specificationDeveloping and Updating Procedures and P&ID’s; Initiating Management of Change (MOC)Participating in Design (DHR) and Process Safety Hazard (OPHR) Reviews; design for maintenance.Supporting department and plant Safety Programs; Timely completion of Incident, OPHR, Audit and Inspection Action Items Developing and reporting maintenance KPI’s; includes Preventative Maintenance and Mechanical Integrity compliance, schedule adherence, equipment condition and repair status.Utilizing the SAP Plant Maintenance Engineer role to maintain accurate equipment and spare parts data; includes developing and/or optimizing plant equipment preventive maintenance tasks.

 

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering 5+ years’ experience in a plant environment, preferably plant maintenance and equipment reliability

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII and IX and ASME B31.3 Piping CodeStatistical backgroundFunctional knowledge of SAPA strong technical background and ability to interact in multi-discipline teams including plant operators, maintenance crafts, engineers, and management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with SharePoint a plus.
