ENERCON's Energy Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for either the Kennesaw, GA, Birmingham, AL, Chattanooga, TN, or Tampa, FL office location. ENERCON’s Energy Group provides engineering design support to industrial facilities, traditional power generation facilities (natural gas, steam, and hydro turbines), as well as alternative, renewable, and sustainable power generation facilities (waste-to-energy, solar, wind, and hydrogen). Step into this exciting role where you will oversee technical work and lead projects. From reviewing engineering deliverables to managing budgets and schedules, your expertise will drive success with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities Provide technical guidance and oversee technical work performed by others to maintain quality standardsReview and check products prepared by other engineers or subcontractors Design, prepare, and/or review engineering deliverables for Power Generation and Industrial clients such as design studies, project scopes, engineering estimates, calculations, specifications, bid evaluations, and technical reviews  Mentor and coach junior-level employees, and support group growth plansAbility to lead Mechanical Engineering project teams locally and out of other offices in support of a variety of mechanical projectsResponsible for project development and execution for a variety of engineering projects at power generation and heavy industrial facilitiesManage budget, scope, schedule, and quality associated with the designated projects with minimal guidance and technical oversightApply technical principles, theories, standards, and concepts and make recommendations based on knowledge and experienceAbility to learn discipline-specific tools and softwareWork with a multidisciplinary teamInterface with other staff engineers as well as engineers working for our clientsTravel and participate in field installation, checkout, and start-upOther duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering degree and 7+ or more years of experience in the design of process systems for industrial & utility power systemsMust have a Professional Engineer (PE) License and the ability to acquire licenses in multiple states or willing to take the exam.Experience with development from the start with existing infrastructure, facility expansions, and/or major facility upgradesAdvanced knowledge of applicable industry and regulatory codes and standards pertaining to the power industryProficiency in one or more of the following areas; Stress Analysis, Hydraulic Analysis, Thermodynamics, Piping Design and Specifying Mechanical Equipment (pumps, piping and valves)PHMSA Knowledge with Natural Gas Pipeline Design preferredAbility to use Autodesk Computer Aided Design (CAD)Proficient in typical office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and OutlookGood writing, presentation, and communication skillsAbility to be an individual contributor and effectively lead diverse teams of engineers and design/draftersAbility and willingness to travel up to 10%-15% of the time
