Senior Mechanical Engineer

Position Summary:

Milacron is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Batavia, OH. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for working to solve technical problems and deliver engineering design solutions for Milacron’s large tonnage injection molding machines.

Work You’ll Do:

Work to solve technical problems and deliver engineering solutions, including but not limited to modifications of sheet metal fabrications, structural fabrications, hydraulic piping applications, etc.

Convert customer requirements into design modifications of standard machine platform

Mentor and provide guidance to new associates

Set priorities aligned to machine assembly schedules

Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, and other functional groups


Team:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will join a dedicated team of 5 engineers, specializing in design alterations of large tonnage injection molding machines, and reporting directly to the Lead Engineer.

Basic Qualifications:

5+ years of progressive engineering experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and design experience

Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic circuits

Ability to successfully support multiple design cycles

Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Product Data Management (PDM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software

Preferred Qualifications:

Plastics industry experience

VA/VE experience

Visual Basic programming experience

Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP, Creo, Windchill PLM, and Ansys CFD preferred
