Join our forward-thinking Instrumentation Research Group as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. You'll lead the development of innovative analytical systems and next-generation scientific instrumentation. We are committed to building a diverse team and fostering an inclusive workplace culture.

 

Responsibilities

· Collaborate with engineers and scientists on advanced Mass Spectroscopy and Liquid Chromatography instrumentation projects.

· Oversee the design and development of mechanical components, fluid and thermal subsystems, vacuum systems, and electro-mechanical systems.

· Conduct comprehensive engineering analysis, testing, and prototyping.

· Lead prototype builds, ensuring precision and innovation.

· Drive detailed mechanical design for components and sub-assemblies.

· Perform in-depth mechanical, fluidic, and thermal analyses to enhance designs.

· Assemble and test electro/mechanical prototypes with meticulous attention to detail.

· Actively contribute to ideation sessions, encouraging diverse perspectives and ideas.

· Acquire and incorporate Voice of the Customer (VoC) through customer engagement activities.

· Mentor junior engineers, fostering their growth and development.

· Maintain thorough project documentation, including engineering reports, functional specifications, and intellectual property records.

· Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting teamwork and diversity of thought.

 

Qualifications

· M.S. in Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.

· B.S. with 5+ years of relevant experience.

Key Experience

· Strong interdisciplinary engineering background or experience with complex systems.

· Proven record of accomplishment in design, highlighting your ability to innovate and solve engineering challenges.

· Experience with coding languages like C+, Python, Matlab, and LabVIEW is a plus.

· Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

· Prior experience leading diverse engineering teams and promoting inclusive practices.
