We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing cost-effective components, equipment, and systems, as well as providing technical support and mentoring less experienced engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical experience, excellent design experience, and the ability to work on existing machines, rebuilds, and upgrades.
ResponsibilitiesDesign or redesign cost-effective components, equipment, and systems using engineering standards and computer-aided design, applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.Prepare engineering drawings for components, assemblies, and plant layouts, and review drawings prepared by less experienced team members.Process engineering change orders/requests and ensure completion by assigned due dates.Prepare bills of materials and process routings in the MRP/ERP system.Analyze and approve designs of suppliers or subcontractors, ensuring products/services meet specification requirements.Evaluate commercially available components for suitability in equipment.Review and disposition component non-conformances.Provide technical support to other departments and customers.Support company products throughout their life cycles.Mentor and train less experienced engineering team members.Prepare and update standards and procedures.Manage job projects/orders from receipt to shipment, including preparing Gantt charts.Stay current on codes and requirements; participate in educational opportunities, read professional publications, and maintain personal networks.Ensure consistency and integrity of all major equipment in accordance with codes and specifications.Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with codes and legal regulations.Occasionally travel (
