Job Description
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to our industrial HVAC & utility system design projects on a full-time, direct basis near the Newark, DE area. Some hybrid flexibility is available. Project types are mostly industrial in nature, such as pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the design of mechanical utility & HVAC systems, including sizing and selection of building mechanical equipment (such as air handlers, chillers, pumps, fans, cooling towers, compressors, dryers, boilers, VRF & DX split systems, and terminal devices).Perform a variety of engineering calculations (e.g., HVAC load & ventilation air calculations, psychometrics, pipe flow/pressure drop, ductwork sizing, ductwork static pressure, hydraulic analysis for piping sizing and layout).Utilize building load calculation software (such as Trane Trace).Develop building energy models when necessary.Apply knowledge of relevant MEP industry codes & standards (e.g., ASHRAE, ICC Codes, NFPA, SMACNA).Develop and write equipment & project specifications.Interact with internal team members as well as external stakeholders (i.e., clients, vendors, and contractors).Provide subject matter expertise (SME) and technical guidance to other Engineers and Designers in the MEP group.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.8+ years of professional experience.Proficiency with engineering tools like AutoCAD; Microstation and Revit are a plus.In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, air handlers, chillers, pumps, fans, cooling towers, compressors, dryers, boilers, load calculations, flow, ductwork, and BIM.Additional Skills & QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) license is highly desired.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $145000.00
